I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Britains Napoleonics line was being redone. Is that why there is now a single British Coldstream Guards Light Company Standing Firing #1 36000 versus the now retired British Coldstream Guards Light Company Firing Set #1? Is there any difference in the individual standing firing figure and the one in the set? Does Britains have more Guard figures planned?

I have noticed that WB has been taking single figures from multi figure sets--ACW, AWI, WWI, Naps and repackaging them in clamshells which is a great idea for adding singles and for point of purchase selling in shops/shows.

The clam shell packing is a stroke of sheer genius !!!

It allows us to see the product, remove it easily from the packaging and allows us to put it back. All with the minimum of fuss and damage to our prized collectibles.

So does that mean the those two standing firing figures are really the same and that they will be doing that for other prior sets, like the kneeling firing figure from British Coldstream Guards Light Company Firing Set #2?

Are these the sets in question?

That is my guess but I am not sure how selections are made. Maybe Ken or Richard can clear this up for us.

What does the suffix “A” indicate?
36002A is from set 17700.

These seem to be poses that you would most likely buy multiples.

The standing firing figure is the same in both sets. Set #17882 British Coldstream Guards Light Company Firing 2 piece set was released in 2007. Set #36000 British Coldstream Guards Light Company Standing Firing was released in 2008. The only other British duplication to my knowledge is with sets #17700 and #36002 where the charging figure is the same. Set #17700 British Coldstream Guards Light Company Defending 2 piece sset was released in 2007. Set #36002 British Coldstream Guards Light Company Charging was released in 2008. Both set #36000 and 36002 come in the clam shell packaging which I totally think is fantastic.

There are also two French figures that have been duplicated. Set #17670 French Line Infantry Chasseurs Assault 2 piece set released in 2007 and Sets #36001 French Light Infantry Voltiguer Charging #1 (2008) and #36003 French Light Infantry Voltiguer Charging #2 (2008). The two French figures in set #17670 are the same poses as the French figures in sets #36001 and #36003. The figures in sets #36001 and #36003 have been painted differently to reflect the Light Company Voltiguer uniforms. Both the individual sets come in clam shells.

These are the only duplications that I am aaware of at this time with the WB Napoleonic figures. I have all these sets and am very pleased with them all.

Hi All!
Occasionally we will select a figure from a retired set to offer as a single. This is often because one of the figures can be useful in multiples, and some of the other figures may not be. We will continue to do this for all periods if there is demand, although many of the newer figures have been released as clamshell figures from the start.
Hope this helps a bit!
Ken
