Well, I can't say that I agree with you although I do understand your point of view. This thread was about Britains WWII Prices and that is exactly what I was commenting on. While I do appreciate Treefrog's forum efforts, I do not think we should be censoring what appears on this forum. I have noticed that this forum has a number of dealers on it and one could make the case that some of their posts are self promoting. I also have no problem with that. Finally, I know a Britains dealer who will sell me Britains at his cost. That one I will keep to myself!

Well, the thread started regarding the RETAIL price Britains was asking for the new items.
I don't care for censorship either.I look at this forum as if I am a guest.Just like being a guest in their house. They provide us with the venue, the ability and the privelege to talk to fellow enthusiasts about our Hobby, likes dislikes the whole 9 yards.I understand you have no problem with the self promoting, but perhaps your hosts might?
I personally don't like the self promoting idea on their site from other dealers.I wheel and deal sometimes as well.I am just not going to hijack someone elses venue they provide, but if they want to tolerate it then who am I to gripe.I won't be doing it though.
I understand you were just pointing out a way to save some $$$ for all of us and not self promoting.Fair enough?Good.
No harm no foul.

Wasn't sure if you were asking another member if they received this offer or if you were asking me to match it. Assuming you were asking me to match it the answer would be sorry, but no. I feel those prices devalue the products. I am excited about the new Britains offerings and would not want to do them the disservice of clearing their new items before they are even released.
I have some great bargains on my website of certain retired pieces I received at an excellent price and I am happy to pass the savings on to my customers but these prices on items not even yet released mock the company.
Guess ya'll will have to settle for 1st rate customer service with a smile and second best prices all around at Treefrog.:p
Mama always said if you can't say anything nice....so I'll stop here.:D

Fair enough. Just curious why another dealer would drop a price so low. I just checked their Website and there's no mention of the said promo.

The irony of all this is that I don't even collect Britains WWII figures. I was just trying to point out to those of you who had balked at their new list prices and said you were not going to buy them that sometimes there are short- lived opportunities to buy things at less than list. I hope some of you do buy some, whether at list or on sale, because it would be a shame to see Britains new incarnation not get off the ground; the hobby needs a viable Britains, after all, their name has been almost synomous with toy soldiers for more than 100 years.

I can't say why Stone Castle's web site doesn't mention the sale. But I suspect that it is because Greg Hahn feels more comfortable with mailings than the internet. He keeps sending me catalogs and price lists even though I have not bought anything from him in years.

I do not collect Britains myself, but their latest planned releases looks tempting enough...the M8 and Steyr in particular. The figures are not bad either but since I have already so much investment in KC, I am thinking twice. I wonder how the M8 K&C would look side by side with Britains. I have the plastic 1/32 Monogram M21 & M8 and they are almost as close as to the K&C dimensions. The key in displaying both brands side by side is to use KC toy soldiers with it.

Maybe Peter Reuss can show us a picture of the older Britain M8 (since the new Britain M8 is not available yet)and the KC M8.
