I haven't been on the forum for a while so not sure if this is answered or not. Does anyone have any idea what the Xmas set will be this year?

As far as I know it hasnt been mentioned yet. But being in Germany my mail is pretty slow to get here via the APO so I may not have received the information yet.

I have just emailed Richard and Jennifer Hollenback asking about this (she emails when new figures have arrived at WBritain). Will let you know what I hear.

Jennifer replied that WBritain is not producing a Christmas set this year. No explanation.

Really? I'm quite disapointed with that, its become one of the highlights of the year for me :( it won't be the same without a new Christmas St on display!!!

P.S. Ken, Richard?

Wasn't there mention of going down a different path? Perhaps they are taking this year off to design a new Christmas series.

But why must they take the year OFF? I know they had said they were not going to continue the current theme (even though I am pretty sure most of us would love them to), but I would be content with even a simple Santa in a kepi and army shirtsleaves handing out food to a union and confederate drummer boy, or the like. Or how 'bout a vignette of a man giving his son some money to give to a wounded Chelsea pensioner?

It does seem wierd that they would take a year off as this would be the 10th Aniversary of the gloss Christmas set! Even if they are going down a different route with the series I don't understand the need to not make one for one year? I'm disapointed to say the least!!!

Same here. It would be like if they took a year off from club events or club sets, or decided too not release one of the Standards. Even a single figure would be nice.

Totally agree mate even just a single figure with a christmassy touch would of been better then nothing!

I heard from Richard. I guess this explains the situation: :(

"Hi Hugh – we have decided not to do a Christmas set this year. With our production issues we felt it better to try and deliver what we have already promised on time and not complicate matters with another set that stood a very good chance of being late, and being late for Christmas is not good!"

it is understandable< but you would of thought after the lateness of the last 2 years sets they would of got a set ready early this year so it wouldnt be late for Cristmas! never mind looks like we aint going to get a 10th aniversery set afteral {sm2} which is a shame as i was expecting it to be a real special set this year!

Same sentiments here. Let's just hope the next one is spectacular- wouldn't a MATT set be cool? Or a set with a couple of different gloss Santa over time, kind of like a mini redcoats thing. My ideal would be a couple KGL showing their Brit Brothers what I christmas tree was.

How 'bout this: Christmas at war from the OTHER perspective- a wife and children crowd around the fire to read a letter from Dad.
