Here is a suggestion for an addition to the WB Redcoats line:

THE EAST INDIA COMPANY'S EUROPEAN REGIMENT AT THE BATTLE OF CUDDALORE, 1ST JULY 1783

The Battle of Cuddalore was part of the 2nd Anglo-Mysore War:

The Second Anglo-Mysore War (1780–1784) was a conflict in India between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Mysore. At the time, Mysore was a key French ally in India, and the Franco-British conflict raging on account of the American Revolutionary War helped spark Anglo-Mysorean hostilities in India.

It would also be nice to see another WB glossy Classic Series: "Enemies of the Empire"like the Mysoreans shown in the illustration. We already have enemy figures in the Classic French & India War Series. We could add Sepoys, Zulus, Dervishes, Boxers, Afridis, Pathan tribesmen, Ashantis, Abyssinians, etc.

I hope your voice will be heard.
A great suggestion.

Gentle Friends,

I wholeheartedly agree with Randy and Konrad. I think this could be a terrific series!

Warmest personal regards.

Pat :)

Until new "British Empire" Redcoats arrive, here are a few pictures of some troops of the late 19th century that I do like very much.
In addition to Randy's suggestion of the East India Company's troops I would welcome any further "mounted" troops.
Konrad

And one more mounted one.
It would be nice to get an officer of the 21st Lancers to go with a few of this one.

Konrad

If I didn't already own all 3 of these Sudan figures your splendid photos would make me run to the store and get them ASAP!

Randy that is a very good idea;)

Very nice pictures of your Camel Corps and 21st Lancer Konrad.

Cheers

Martyn:)

For the painters among us who'd like to model the European regiment, maybe All the King's Men's new 1812 militia can serve as a starting point. Ken has a post here this morning to show his latest figures, but here is a link to the page at his website, too:

http://allthekingsmentoysoldiers.com/ATKM1812.html

The "Militia Infantry" and "Maryland Militia" include figures with the stovepipe, they might be converted relatively easily to the East India Company's troops.

Prost!
Brad

I collect only WWII, but I have admired this 21st Lancer from the beginning. I will probably get this guy. Can anyone tell me what scale it is 1/32 or 1/30?

Nice photos Konrad. These are my favorite figures in that line. John

Very nice figures Konrad I hope we see some more lancers (perhaps 17th :)) and maybe some hussars or dragoons.
