I hope I'm right in thinking Conte is short for Conteco!

I usually collect K&C AWI figures but would really like some British Legion cavalry, which I don't think Andy has any plans to release for the foreseeable future.
Having been looking around for BL in a different range I found this Conteco one.
I wondered if this is 54mm scale and also is it me or does the single side view of this figure look much better painted than the split shot, are there two variations (perhaps an earlier release).
Would appreciate some thoughts plus does anyone actually have this figure, what do you think??

I have this figure (two of it) and it was been procdes by Conte in just one variation. One or two of the photos shown are not good, so the figure looks not so brilliant, perhaps. But the mass production figure is a good one (that's why I bought two of it...). The figure is one from a "better" Conte time; brought us so fantastic stuff, also AWI. I have all of the AWI gigs of Conte, in the last years reinforced by the also very good K&C Brit Regiments.

I believe this is Banastre Tarleton.I just checked and it is.REV022

Not to take away from the Conte figure, M'Lo'd, but may I also recommend Ken of All the King's Men, who is also a member of the forum here, especially if you're interested in painting your own figures. His website is http://www.allthekingsmentoysoldiers.com/

You might be interested in looking at his figures online, he has a series of light dragoons for both the Continental and the British armies.

Prost!

Thanks for the replies and seeing the figure displayed with scenery is really nice.

From a couple of the replies it seems to me that Conte are no longer around, therefore if I did want this figures is it an ebay job?

Is this a 54mm figure?

Can't really help you on the size but I think they are 1/32 scale.Conte is still in business ?:confused:You can go to his website,www.conteco.com. he also has an ebay store.Seriously I can't tell you what's going on with him. 10 years ago he was probably the hottest manufacturer around but a lot has happened since then.Read the thread Is Conte still in Business to understand a lot more.Good Luck.

Nice shots. That rifleman might be wishing he had a faster loading smoothbore that fit a bayonet and with a stock that won't break when used as a club.

BANASTRE TARLETON was a punk.

Typically the earlier Conte offerings were 54mm or 1/32 and compare nicely with Wm Britains. But then I also think that K&C mounted figures tend to be a tad bit smaller than their foot figures. I have used K&C mounted Napoleonic figures with my WB Nappies and feel they have worked just fine together. With that said, this figure should scale favorably with K&C mounted figures - JMHO
