Got several of these MK014 and 038 with the axe broken off at the hand. This is actually a good place for it to break. The repair is not for the faint of heart or unsteady hands, but it is simple. If any of the shaft is left next to the fingers remove it so there is a smooth area where the shaft stuck out from the hand. Use an exacto knife for this:eek: Then with the appropriate size drill bit drill the hand where the shaft was. I use a pin vise for this. If you get this right the shaft of the axe will fit right in. A little CA and perhaps a little touch-up wit some acrylics and presto!

I'd love to see some macro images of your fine work with this. project...

I've done similar on some Frontline Rogers Rangers, but didn't take closeups :(

Just did another MK014. Should have taken before and after.:( Will post after I upload camera.

Finally, the AC may need a bit of flat varnish to cover the joint.

One other thing, it pays to know which way the axehead was facing before re-inserting;)

Mike...you do good work...it's nice to have the tools and the confidence to make repairs...

I think K&C needs to examine this weapon on their Crusader/Saracen series for future figures...

I collect this series and have every single set...mounted and infantry...

First off...let me say...I love them...they are gorgeous and great pieces...I will collect any more they add to this series...

However...every single axe...held by Crusader and Saracen that I own...has bent or has had the paint chipped on mine...

it's a weak piece...it needs to be addressed by K&C for future production...

I have had to repair every single one or repaint every single one...

there was a thread on the weakness of these axes some time ago...it seems I am not alone on this problem...

K&C is too good of a company not to address and correct this problem on future releases...

KV...

Look forward to it. Have not done any repairs to this range mainly WWII and WWI so, its interesting to watch how others rectify these ranges
Mitch

I have one on plumes coming up. Showing the tools and the progress if not the actual process. I try....
