What do you all do with vehicles or tanks that are sent to you that arrive broken, do you send them back, or phone up and explain the circumstances?:)

I'm too embarassed, so I'd probably end up keeping the broken thing:eek:

Anyways, if anyone has any broken vehicles that they don't want please tell me, because I love glueing red kind of bush stuff to tanks, that way they look blown up and wrecked, and I could use some more wrecked vehicles!:D

Thanks everyone!:D

Nothing to be embarrassed about. I estimate if I can fix it vs how likely the next one will be damaged. K&c pieces almost always arrive in good condition. My dealer checks them before sending. And they are easy to fix. Figarti are more fragile and even with the dealer checking them before shipping, there is usually something broken which I fix. I have only once had to return a figure (K&C) which had the end of a flamethrower broken off and I didn't think I could repair it well enough. I have even purchased slightly damaged out-of-stock items at a discount and repaired them OK.

I like tinkering with damaged vehicles as well. Keeps me out of mischief.
The few pieces I've bought new which have had some minor damage, I have fixed up as new, with no drama. Unless it's something catostrophic, it's not worth the hassle for me, of sending stuff back and forth. I'm sure others will disagree, but that's me.

Worst i've had was a K&C Prime Mover that had the front wheel snapped off and the weapon on the Officer broken.
Tony at K&C UK swapped it straight away no problem.

I use two options;

1) If the vehicle is very "collectible" I may contact the supplier and ask for another. There's nothing embarassing about the shippers screwing up and expensive item.

2) The more likely scenario is that I will repair the item myself. I am a fair model builder and am able to re-glue some items and replace some others.
I can often come close to original paint shades by trial and error, making the repair invisible.

If I receive it from a dealer, back it goes to him. I want them in the condition they were supposed to be in.

Never had a problem with a non-dealer purchase.

Scott, you should never put up with an item thats broken just because you are a bit embarrassed to send it back. Its the duty and normally a pleasure for a reputable company to replace it for you.I've been fortunate in that everything i've ordered from K&C UK,Figarti and Treefrog has always arrived in perfect condition. However i know all these guys would have no problem replacing it for me,stand up for your rights Scott;):)

These items cost too much money $$$ to receive them in anything less than perfect condition from a dealer. Damaged vehicles should go back and replacement or refund should be made.

This is correct. If I wanted to repair and paint models (other than a minor chip) I could buy them unfinished much cheaper than what these finished items sell for. If I pay my money out, that item better be as new. -- lancer

If it's new and something in current production request a replacement.

If it's a older item and not in production and the damage is minor or such that I know I can make a invisible repair, I will keep it and do the work myself. If not, I return it for a full refund.

Ill send it back to a dealer, if its e bay & a hard to find item, id try & fix if its not a noticable fix. Otherwise ill open a dispute & get my $ back, if they didnt want to refund me.

Sometimes I buy broken vehicles and then repair them and repaint them. Not the other way around.:D:D:D:D
