Buck Compton, PL of BOB died last Saturday age 90 of heart attack. Met him a couple of yrs ago at a Louisville gun show. He and three other BOB were signing pictures and prints. A great man who lived a full and interesting life. Read his autobiography. A great soldier. Chris

I saw this early this morning. The mention discusses the great turnout for his 90th birthday in January. Four of the actors from the BOB series attended including Neal McDonough, who played Buck Compton.

I'm very happy that Stephen Ambrose's book and the series introduced these fine men to the world. They've left a lasting impression on me and I'm very pleased that their story will be well remembered. It would be nice to see other units like theirs get some attention.

Go well into your final resting place Lynn Compton. You're now among some of those you've treasured most.
