Hougomont would be very big and very expensive, but since we're dreamin anyway why not.
Earthworks were seldom used during Napoleonic times except at a siege, many of which took place in Spain.
There is at least one exception , the great Redoubt at Borodino including the "wolf" fletches { v shaped infantry positions to the front of the redoubt} would be very cool idea, but again huge. You would have to have room for 18 cannons. There are already some nice high density foam earthworks out there so you could fudge it.Wheres all the dang 1812 Russians anyway????????

I,ll go through my pictures and see if i have any pictures of some good scenic and building pictures from the napoleonic period to act as reference if you like mark and I,ll see if i have any pictures of dead bloated cows also:D as brad can tell you i have real a bad sence of humor.

Heads and arms, legs and chests, body parts - body parts - lots and lots of body parts. I am watching a series of horror movies so I am very motivated to be a little bit strange tonight. :D

I would pay dearly to have the entire farm, if I could buy it in sectons over time. I think that Hougomount would be a super Napoleonic accessory and that I would not be alone. It could be used in a variety of settings including WWII BOF and D-Day. :) Michael

http://www.fusilier-miniatures.com/order_cat.asp?lsSelect=RETREAT+FROM+MOSCOW&butSubmit=Go&offset=0 Check out this retreat from moscow line from fusiler. I love the idea and the poses like the horse stuck in the ice and the sleds and winter gear ect. but the sculting is not very good but i still love the poses. I wish someone with better sculpters would steal the idea:D . Also fubar have you seen the russain made plastics. I think you can get them at t.s.s.d. I know you like to mess with plastics, there not to bad. I,ve got some that i started painting but never got around to finish them. Thats all i can think of other than kits and russain painted figures I know what you mean about lack of russains and prussains are just as hard to find. Have you seen the tin bay russains? I know the price:p but there still nice to look at any way!!!

Mark here are a few pictures of what a peninsular fort would look like seeing as K&C has gone with that era.

mark heres a web site that has some good photos for ideas. You just have to surf around it as they are all over the place look for the blue highlighted sections and click them. There are some nice photos of the peninsular land scape also and you can see how rough the area was for the french with all the hills and mountains. This may give you some good ideas. http://www.napoleon-series.org/military/virtual/almeida/c_almeida.htmlThere are also some good photos of the buildings of that period also. A good idea is to check out some farm and industrial equiptment from that era. They had lots of wind mills and water wheels to turn machinery of the time and simple tools that could be shovels rakes saws wheel barrels wine barrels any farm eqt. of the time.
