I have to say, I love Build-A-Rama palm trees. They look so real, I have 7 palm trees in my collection they go great with my K&C crusaders. I wonder in the future, will you make a oasis with your small palm trees around the water? i think that would be a great piece to add to a desert diorama. keep up the great work!!!

Yeah, I would like to snag some of these too- I have been holding off but with my Egyptians growing, I will need some in the future.

So many needs, so little cash.........:(

yes, they are a must have. i love those palm trees. my girl friend just started collecting the egyptians and she wants to steal my palms and put them in her display case. hopfully my crusaders will defend them from her, and her egyptian raiding parties. lol.

Are they worth the price? Every time I see them in the catalogue I take a double-take when I see the price for a single tree.

I really like Build a Rama products, but I must admit they are too pricey for me.
I know they are hand produced, but for use as background, I prefer cheaper items.
The best palm trees I ever found were in the Christmas Department at WalMart by the Natvity items. I believe they were .99 cents each, were the proper height, trunk made of some sort of hard resin, with the leaves being some soft flexable material.
Haven,t seen any the past 3 years and I don,t remember the make.

Agreed on the price issue for the palm trees Gary. I do think that the dio bases offered by Build-a-Rama are good value though. Especially the destroyed Sherman set.
Cheers

Did they come out with some new palms ?

The ones that Build-a-rama has now are more South Pacific / Asian - than Middle Eastern. IMHO.

Actually Harry when we picked up JG Miniatures and Build-a-rama, I got a crash course in palm trees from the manufacturers and the palm trees from North Africa aren't the same as the Pacific. The JG Miniature palms are date palms for North Africa dioramas and the Build-a-Rama palm trees are for Pacific dios. Mark of BAR feel free to jump in and correct me if I'm wrong!
That would be a great addition to the descriptions of the palms on our website to help dio builders know which to choose. Oh Mandi...

I may not know the type of palm trees B.A.R. makes but, I can tell you they look great with my crusaders. Great product!!!:D

I don't know Oz but if it is send me the recipe--sounds like it will make a great cookie!;)

Shannon

YES - YOU ARE CORRECT ! :D

Having traveled through both the Pacific and North Africa - Palm Trees are NOT all alike.

There is a difference.

Actually Shannon, what I meant was;
Palm trees are palm trees and date trees are date trees. But then again, who cares as long as they look good in dioramas.
