I started work on a trench section for my French Poilus I bought recently. This dio is commissioned by a toy soldier shop in my region . It will be on display with on both sides an original German and Belgian helmet from wwI

Excellent Guy, look forward to the finished dio......:salute::
Wayne.

Fantastic as usual Guy. Just the pile of Grey rocks do not quite gel with me, seem a little unrealistic. Robin.

I think, well hope, they are an attempt at sandbags rather than rocks. all else is fine they (sandbags) need to be reworked to look more realistic IMO

These are not rocks Robin, but "Verlinden" sandbags. They will change in appearance as soon as I start working on the details . I am still building the rough structure and putting the lay out together .

Can't wait to see the finished article Guy, you never disappoint.

Your house must be like one giant battlefield, do you have to wear a gas mask to get a cup of tea :)

Regards

Dave

And when you are finished they will look the real deal, rocks or sandbags, your dio's are always spot on Guy. Robin.

Guy they look like clay and I have a number of Verlinden sets and never seen this particular set or style from them

I paint and make dios since the early 60ties. I still own a lot of early production stuff from Verlinden and other manufacturers . These sand bags are red ceramic like all the stuff Verlinden made in his early days when it still was a Belgian company located in the city of Lier ;

Without a figure for reference this could be a real trench somewhere in Europe. Coming along very nicely. Robin.

Incredible work Guy and those sandbags are very realistic!

Tom
