C-130 lands on aircraft carrier (1 Viewer)

I would not have been the first to try this. The Navy was testing the C-130 for Naval operations on carriers. It landed and took off without catapults and arrest wires. Just looks pretty cool to see something that big on the carrier. The ship is the Forrestal

Yeah, it looks pretty cool Zach, I wonder if they continued trials/training or if discontinued, why and why not have landings on the Nimitz class and new Gerald Ford class carriers.

First saw this while going thru C-130 qual school many yrs ago. That is the only instance of a carrier op to my knowledge. Chris
