Ive started to fully paint the alabardero in acrylics.

Likewise, the fifer has been fully ptd with acrylics.

The next figure is an artillery gunner. There are two illustrations and this depicts a French gunner circa 1600.

I think that the original figure had a linstock but this broke off. So I added a brass tubing and gave him a ramrod. I also changed the position of the head and added a feather.

Here are two illustrations of a Dutch pikeman. I had modified the figure earlier with an added brass tubing and some feathers.

Moving on, here are three figs in various WIP stages.


The first is the albardero of Philip IV Spain. The right leg looks awkward so I will have to correct the pose after the paint has dried.

The second is a German drummer.





The third is either a Spanish musketeer or a Belgian Cuirassier in Spanish service.

The next 2 figs

A German landsknecht and a Spanish musketeer.



The landsknecht is directly taken from this illustration.



The Spanish musketeer pose is directly taken from the first illustration. However, the details of the slashed jerkin is definitely from this second figure.

I gave this figure a neck ruff and changed his sword to a rapier.

Doing some minor conversions to these two figs.

Drilled a pin to add a sword pommel to the landsknecht.

Drilled a hole to add some brass feathers to the hat of drummer.

Straightened out the base of the landsknecht. Added a pommel.

I cut off the leg of the alabardero to straighten out the stance and added putty.

Finished ptg the front row. Gave all the figs dark green bases. Will continue to pt the other figs. Then gloss the figs.

Hi Louis and John,

Here are the other figs almost completed. Just waiting for some paint to dry here and there and then I gloss them over. Notice that the figures are like caricatures and the details are vague. I am outlining the figures here and there as I think that this style of ptg suits this type of sculpting.

Next minor upgrade - I took out all the figs that need some groundwork added.

Starting on the groundwork and letting it dry in the hot sun.

Finished the groundwork. Putting these guys back into the cabinets.

With such a large collection, there's so much to do..
