Guys, many thanks for all your pics and reports, much appreciated. Does anyone have any close up shots of the Calliope by any chance?

Cheers

Rob

Here you go Rob. I cropped these out of earlier pictures.

Comes with two figures Rob, in case no one else has mentioned that. I think you will really like it.

Thanks to both you guys, much appreciated. Sure does look good

Appears the sign says German Calliope, must be a captured one. Cheers, Robin.

Of course it might say Sherman Calliope, but everything seems German these days. Cheers, Robin.

Congrats to those who were looking forward to the Calliope. I'm surprised the gentleman from USC has yet to come out with a DD Sherman in either full or 1/2 skirt. Oh well, maybe next year. :(

I understand the firing tubes are all individually cast and they move up and down.

I have seen resin kits where groups of firing tubes are cast together to save on assembly and cost, but Figarti assembled all the individual tubes which made this piece $279.{eek3} The fine detail is what you expect from Figarti.:smile2:

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Just as the Tiger gun moves, the rocket launcher goes up and down. Quite cool. Is it absolutely necessary? No, but it's a nice touch that I like.

That's about right. I spent about $249 for converting the Figarti Sherman w/ hedgerow cutter to the Calliope (Figarti Sherman with Hedgerow cutter (179) + Monogram Screamin Mimi kit. That excludes 40 man-hours spent on the project. Ths would make Figarti Sherman Calliope cost reasonably fair.

I may actually get this. My conversion was based on a Sherman M4A1 (single cast) . The new Figarti release is on an M4 (Welded).

Now Rob, you know you want this!
The price/detail combination is hard to beat.

Were there two different calliopes at the show? Pics show 2 different hull insignias and one tank with a machinegun?

Cheers Bill,

Since I took the photos I will comment. I did not notice any different hull insignia at all nor any difference at all in regards to the machine gun you mentioned as they all had them. Perhaps, it is just the angle/perspective of the image. In short, just one version. Hope this helps you out!

Best Regards,
Marc

Welll, I guess the ones going out to collectors don't have them. Machines guns that is

Bill:

The other Calliope you are referring to in this thread was the scratch-built Calliope (using the Figarti Sherman w/ hedgegrow cutter and Tamiya parts) I made before Figarti came up with their own and shown at the Chicago show. I posted photos of my scratch-built side by side with the ones shown at the Chicago show just to show the difference and similarity. Attached are the photos of the "other" Calliope you were referring to (not at the Chicago show).

........ And it will be here. The dream is coming true!! Thanks, Rick!!! Greatly appreciated!!

The calliope is a great model. I also liked the 88 on the PzkwIV. You can imagine my surprise when Michael Hall brought that into the shop.{sm3}
