Calvary Soldier and Horse Identification (2 Viewers)

Hello, I recently acquired quite a mixed lot of toy soldiers. Some folks on this forum were very helpful with some Britains.

In this same lot are 3 very nice Calvary Soldiers on Horseback. I believe they are solid, not hollow. I have attached a picture of 1 soldier and horse. All three soldiers and horses have the same CHA sticker on the bottom.

I have not been able to find any information concerning a possible maker.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

The label "CHA" on your cavalry pieces isn't ringing a bell. I'd have to check my references.

Unless it could be Charles Hall? I don't know that his pieces were labeled with paper labels like these, though.

For that matter, the label could be the label of a company that marketed the figures, too, rather than the original maker. That's the case with figures made by King-White, which were sold by various retailers, most notably Reeves International, and so many of them were sold in boxes with Reeve's label.

I had a chance to look in O'Brien's "Collecting Toy Soldiers", 1st and 2nd editions, and the two figures in your photo are definitely by Charles Hall. The foot figure is a dismounted Scots Grey. I'm not sure which regiment the mounted figure depicts, but the casting itself is identical to the photo accompanying the article in the 2nd edition.

Hall, of Edinburgh, began producing his toy soldiers in 1977, but by 1988, he was out of business, with the molds sold, according to O'Brien.

If you could take some more pictures of all of the figures and post them, that would be a great favor to our community here.

I'm a great fan of Charles Hall and am fortunate to have a couple of dozen. Those painted by him have wonderful faces and have been an inspiration when painting my own figures. Other painters were unable (or at least didn't bother) to match the master.

Thank You so much for the information. I have 4 mounted Calvary. The first picture has 2 and both the rider and horse have the CHA tag on the bottom.
The second picture has the other 2. The rider and horse on the left have the CHA tag. The one on the right does not.
Does O'Briens "Collecting Toy Soldiers" identify the Charles Hall type of Calvary?
