Hello all. I recently acquired some large toy soldier lots from the estate of a fellow US military veteran. Some of these were acquired in large mixed lots. I have a few sets I cannot identify.

The first set is a British Zulu War period artillery team. They are done in a very nice glossy finish - the arms are hinged at the shoulder so the arms can be raised and lowered. Does anyone know what brand these are from?

The next I believe is a mounted Muslim warrior (Crusades?) on a barded horse. The rider fits into a slot on the horse's saddle. The horse and rider are really heavy.

Appreciate any assistance.

Walt

Imperial of NZ for the artillery.
Altaya of FF fame for the horsemen.
Nice figures.

Thank you Paddy.

I think the lovely glossy gun is Imperial Productions #45: RFA 9 PDR gun with 4 crew. Yours may be missing an officer with binoculars. But I'm not an expert, I've just seen the set before. It had a 4 man crew. Still a great a semi-rare set!
Look up Altaya and Frontline Figures and see if they still list their Mounted Crusades series. They may not be as valuable (not as rare) as the Imperial set but they are heavy and great fun.
I have a decent collection of Imperial - mostly Sudan & Crimean Wars. The sets used to be a great deal. Now they are much more near-and-dear.
I have 15 mounted Altaya Knights/Saracens. They cost me $22 in 2008 so they went up in value as well.
Glad I could help. Best Wishes & Happy Collecting!

Paddy you are correct. There is a 4th figure, an officer with binoculars. I found I have that figure too. Thanks again.
