Hello everyone.....A few years back in places such as Wal-Mart and Target they sold alot of military toys and collectibles from Forces of Valor, 21st century( I know they are gone) and Corgi and others. Suddenly nothing, was it sales slumping or political correctness? Just some thoughts please and as always thanks.

21st Century was the first company to sell military toys and collectibles to the mass merchandisers. As I was told the story went, someone complained about the German cross on a tank and that's all she wrote, Toys R Us yanked all German related items from the stores, but continued to sell American tanks and vehicles.

Walmart carried FOV and 21st as well, they continued to sell German items until 21st Century "tanked" so to speak. Target also sold FOV, I wasn't aware Walmart and Target stopped carrying FOV, I thought they had a lower grade item that they marketed to the mass merchandisers that was priced .10 cents below the higher grade items they sold to toy soldier dealers such as myself.

21st and FOV sold like wildfire for me and for most of the other toy soldier dealers before they started peddling them to the mass merchandisers, undercutting us and flooding and killing the market as a result.

FOV has cut way back on the annual new releases, only three or four new vehicles a year for the past several years and mostly repaints that few collectors want........................
