I purchased these toy soldiers from the estate of an elderly Russian woman, but I can't figure out anything about them. Can anyone help me?
thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure we'll be able to help, but I'll second Mirof. If you can tell us if there are any markings on the undersides of the bases, that will help; photos of the undersides would be even better.

Having said that, I think they're definitely of Russian manufacture, and I think they depict soldiers of the White armies during the Russian Revolution. The banner with the "K" makes me think of Admiral Kolchak, one of the leaders of the anti-Bolshevik forces. The figures remind me of figures I've seen sold by dealers like Sergei Ilyashenko (Lead Armies), though I don't know a specific manufacturer. The bases especially are similar to the bases on some Russian figures I have. They could date to the late 80's/early 90's, perhaps, up to the present.

What does everyone else think?

Prost!

Also, can you tell us anything about the pair of Chinese/Asian lion temple guards in the background? Anyone else recognize them?

Prost!

Hi, yes here is what is under the base of the soldiers. I appreciate the help. The foo dogs were from the same estate. The lady apparently collected toy metal soldiers and there were a lot more of them of different types but they were snatched up before I could get to them.

Oh, and also the only flag I could find similar to this one is one for the Ukrainian Insurgent Army

Brad ,

Remember my figures that were acquired from Budapest Hungary during the 90's...We could only id as an unknown Russian manufacter !
Do these seem reminiscent of those to you ??
The one in back with a square brown base...the other's with green bumpy surface although being edged off...

Could be by the same manufacturer, I agree, it's possible. That helps confirm further in my mind that they're made in Russia, just have to see if we can identify a specific maker.

Prost!

The Kornilov Regiment was an elite unit in the White Russian Army, eventually expanded to a 4 Regiment Brigade. They were formed by Kornilov who was a real right wing fanatic but was killed early in the Russian revolution. The Brigade fought tthe Bolshevik Red Army in the Crimea and left Russia at the end of the revolution.

A very timely set given current affairs.

Thanks you guys for the help! Okay so next question is would anyone have a best guess estimate of their value? I just need to know if these are something my nephew can play with, or I need to put them up on a shelf.

Thanks again! You guys are awesome

Hi,
These are Russian maker "souvenier" type figures from the 1980s. I had a set awhile ago, they did not only Russian Army, but US, German, etc. Anyhow, value, relative, probably $5-10 per figure. SO, they can be "played" with, BUT, they are all LEAD, so not really a great idea for the younger clan to play with. I would put them on a shelf high in the sky until he is older so to speak!

Best
