The Indians are wonderful, but the prices are shockingly high. I am curious what happened. Thank You.

Hello:

Wow, $59.00 USD for a single foot figure! Yes, I would like to know why the super high price. There is more detailing and more colors on the Indians vs the 7th Cavalry, but still the new TRW Indians are super expensive. I am sure glad I started collecting some 21 years back rather than just a few years back!

I'm dazed and confused. So I have to repost this comment on this threat too.

$55 for new Market Garden & New Real West Indians release....Simply Amazing!

I haven't seen the figures yet...$55 Amazing!

Britians figures new American Revolution figures $30 per figure....Simply Amazing!

I guess KC is $25 per figure or 83% better quality than Britians, right? Or, how can Britians afford to keep there prices down

I assumed they were "premium" figures based on the (P) in the product code (similar to the new Market Garden figures). Like the figures, but the price is well beyond my budget, putting them in competition with other vendor's lines. Hopefully they'll continue with standard releases, and not get too out of hand price wise.

I love the range and the figures are beautiful...but I cannot do this...it's out of my league...

Here may be why the price difference........................DETAIL ^&cool

I think that the key question isn't what happened, but what is going to happen.

I understand why the Native American figures might cost more because of the exquisite painting and detail. They look so good I might be able to afford one or two. I sure hope regular figure prices don't get driven up to 50 plus dollars. If they get much higher than that, I'll just have to start collecting other companies miniatures, like W Britains instead, though I much prefer King and Country. I think more than $50 is way too high for just one figure.

That mounted Indian shooting is the answer. The detail is equisite. It all means that I'll only be getting half the range though and spreading it out over a few years.

Wow, the painting is very well done alright! The bright colors add a striking visual element.

yes the prices doing an attack on my bank account,
but I also see that there is much more paint work on this
beautiful new Indians

So*Custer you are going down boy, the new indians are coming!!!

Custer for me is not going to be out numbered in a hurry. These Indians are low down on my totem pole with all the other new releases ( MG & AE). May have to sneak up on these foot figures over a period as I am struggling with $59 each, probably ok with the mounted at $119 I think. They all look good, but they will have to wait until I have nothing else to feed my addition.{sm4}, certainly no duplicates like I would normally consider. Might always be a token force that Custer will encounter. Robin.

Wow, not so long ago I was paying $21.00 for American Revolution figures which really meant you could get lots of multiples, $59.00 for a single figure is scarying me if and when there are any more future AWI releases....{eek3}

I just hope they are very plain and not much detail! :wink2:

It is all an economic question: if people will keep on buying at a bigger and bigger price and the final income will be better and better for the company, even if they lose some clients, they will keep on rising the prices in this way.
But, if really many clients will stop buying them, then they will be obliged to slow down the rising prices.

Speaking of pricing I think that the ANZAC camel figures are not worth the money as the sculpting and painting of the cames is not as good as the camels produced by Britains and Tom Gunn. Frankly, the KC camels remind me of AIP camels. Also what is with the latest collector club figures, frankly they are unappealing to put it politely. Given the pricing of current KC products I am tracking down older club figures, e.g., Skinners, and buying other brands.

Ben,
I am guessing you might be a camel fan. I sell K&C (2 LOAs and the ANZAC's, TG (only Lawrence so far) and the Britains Sudan camels.

As with any product nobody is forcing you to buy them but the ANZAC camels have far outsold the TG and Britains ones despite being more expensive. A number of collectors bought both versions. Obviously they are popular here in Oz so it might be an unfair comparison. A comparison would be the TG and K&C Lawrence camels. The K&C LOA's camel were the most expensive mounted items by K&C but have both sold very well despite my initial concerns over their $125 price. I have both Lawrences on camels displayed next to each other and no prizes for guessing which sells more despite being more expensive and the other coming with a foot figure.

A Sudan campaign camel simply can not compete on sales with an ANZAC camel in the Australian market even with being $29 price cheaper.

Like with anything what you may consider not worth it others may consider good value/quality and worth their while to purchase.

Personally I am not an old movie fan (ie. Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy). I am a member of the Club However the Club Figures are direct sales by K&C so if they do not sell well then it is K&C who is most affected. I remember somebody saying the Mad Jock Mactavish figure was a waste of production but on the other side I know many who got it.

Just another view.

Brett

I have the first two Lawrence K & C releases and thought the camels were were well done. Don't collect the Australian release so can't comment there. However, in my opinion, the K & C camels have always been outstanding, all the way from the glossy days (of which I have several) all the way to the present time.
