I received an email from Treefrog, about The Carra Armato M13/40 tank. And it Comes with an AK,Italian, And An Australian Variants. I guess It is The Next Limited to 250 Series. While It is Greatly appreciated to have another piece added to the 8th army, I just hope it will come with Some Infantry too. Austarlians/ British would be real nice.

It's great K&C have produced a German and an Aussie version of the M13/40.

The Aussies re-used the tanks in 1940 given the general lack of allied armour in North Africa at the time.

The Germans nicknamed these tanks "rollende särge" or rolling coffins. After Italy signed the armistace in July 1943, the Germans captured a number of the tanks and re-named them Panzerkampfwagen M13/40 735(i). I know a small number were used by SS anti-partisan units in Northern Italy and the former Yugoslavia, but would appreciate any advice about their use by the Germans in North Africa.

Regardless, I have pre-ordered all three variations - they will go great with any African diorama circa 1940-42.

Well guys, the thing is, the camo pattern on the Italian tank is the "CONTINENTAL" paint scheme.. This was used more prevelent in the Balkans and Italian front.. Not so much in Afrika:redface2:

The Italian version of the M13/40 tank is Tank 2, 3rd Platoon, 1st Company, Ariete Division which servred in North Afrika where it was destroyed. I don't think it fought in the Balkans or the Italian front.

The darker olive tan of the Italian tank vs the AK and Aussie paint looks a lot like the M13/40 Tank 1, 3rd Platoon, 2nd Company Ariete Division at Bovington.

too bad there's no italian tank commander in service cap and leather jacket
looks odd to me to have a tank crewman wearing the large hat inside hot armour
