Celtic warrior (1 Viewer)

Hello All,

I decided to restyle his hair. So far, I have removed all that spiky stuff and have created a bald pate for a new hairstyle.
As my namesake once said:
"If you don't look good, we don't look good".

The fringe strands didn't look right so I sanded it off and redid it again.

I painted the fringe in oils, using an impasto technique to suggest hair strands. The rest of the body was also painted in oils, awaiting blue body markings.

I painted the blue markings on the body. The trousers and shield were also painted.

I am obsessed with his hair. Just added some strands to the left side...:) I created a tear in the trousers for interest.

I tidied up the fringe, painted the trousers and the shield designs. The figure was carefully mounted on the base through the long wire, which was carefully concealed by the grass. The scene is that of a Celt leaping out to ambush his protagonist. I present to you Vidalsassoonix!

I ordered a job lot of brass nameplates for my many figures and have stuck one onto my Celtic warrior base.

I retook some pics against a black background, with daylight lamp and flash. I closed the aperture size to tone down the whiteness of the flash which I can't control. Mine is a simple point and shoot camera, not SLR. I also mounted my camera on a stand and had a ten second delay to stabilise the scene. This results in less photo-retouching steps later.

I think that these simple steps in photography improves the quality of my pics, notwithstanding the points above.
