Champions League Final (1 Viewer)

Just remember that over the last three seasons English teams have been in the semis and finals. ;):)

Jeff, the England Premier League has today, the best clubs in the world, no doubt about that.
I don’t give a #$#@&?%?? to Spanish clubs it is not my country, I just said that English futebol is not my style and I prefer the way Barcelona played.

This was a truly amazing game I watched it from a British Pub in California crammed with over 150 people. Barcelona played really well and as a die hard Chelsea fan was very happy to see Man U lose!!!

Remember the FA Cup on Saturday wear your BLUE!!!

Yo Troopers Ok, the expert:rolleyes: has to come in to settle this one, from Merseyside point of view. Ok so Chelsea should have had a penalty, BUT for two games all they did was try and stop Barca playing the beautiful game, I was really disappointed in them, Barca must have had 80% of the ball in the two games, so Chelsea didn't deserve to go through being so negative. I forecast Barca to win it they are just superb to watch. I go with Debrito here. The English Premier is only good because of all the foreign players, we have four teams, and the four all have money to spend. As for the Final once Barca got the ball Man U didn't get a kick. They reckon Ferguson is great, well how do you play the best English forward on the wing Rooney. He didn't expext Messi to play in the centre, so he got it all wrong. Ineista must be the worlds best midfielder he is just sheer class. Also did you notice the way Messi never complains, gets clobbered by giant defenders, just gets up and gets on with it. (hope a few of the Dying Swan actors from the Premier) and the petulance of Ronaldo took note, and he is only 5' 5" a real credit to the game.
For me The Spanish rule the world at present in football.
We Won the World Cup once, and I am affraid it will stay once. Africa is coming on so fast they will be winning it soon.

Bernard.

As an Arsenal supporter who is glad the little devils came up empty :p, I'll join forces with Jeff and say go Toffees. Aside from Man U, Chelsea is up there on my dislike list.

Spanish, English, Italian, good football can come from many parts and the fact is that any of the 4 semi finalists might have won the Cup.
The fact that Chelsea chose to suffocate Barcelona as a winning strategy doesn't mean they didn't deserve to go through. They were positive at Stanford Bridge and they were held by the ref...
Spectacular football doesn't always win and every team has the right to win based on their favorite strategy and on their available resources. Just ask the 1982 Brazil team, the best I ever saw: they lost against the Italian counter strikers...
That said MU was dispappointing on the day, they ran much less and were much slower than Barcelona...

Paulo meu amigo, you are complete right, but guys i think we do not talk about good or bad, we are talking about different styles of futebol, England style; fast and strong, Italian defensive way of play (the Italian wall), la Furia Espanola, that has so many good clubs but always struggle in the World Cup, Germany ugly but efficient way of play. Then we have Argentina and Uruguay, hard and sometimes dirt, and to concluded we have the Brazilian....... I will pas on this one.

Have a great night guys...

Rod.

Is it really correct nowadays to talk about one style or another when each big team has so many international players?

Blast! But I guess Chelsea were the better team. Great strike by Lampard.

That's a good point, Arsenal, for instance, nowadays has nearly no British players. The only regular is Wallcott as much as I can remember.
