After talking about this for seemingly forever...Changing Guard Auctions will SOON be a reality! www.changingguardauctions.com

On Thursday, October 29 at 8:00 am CST, the site will be live and ready to go!

We are getting a few items listed so it's not empty to begin with.

At long last, it's time to begin the CGA era

We can't wait to show it to you.

More exciting details will be here soon!

Is there a set of rules you can post?

Terry

Anything in particular you want to know :D The terms and conditions were prepared by our lawyer...

Here's some of the info, though:
• No listing fees - unless you choose premium options, listing is free!
• Low overall fees - Our final fee for successful auctions is a straight 4%
• Feedback for both buyer and seller
• No buyer premiums
• More payment options (If a seller wants to accept money orders and checks they can. If they prefer Paypal they can use that as well, but it isn't the ONLY option.)

Very much look forward to it. Will it be accessible to and advertised to non TFs as well?

This is definitely NOT just a site for forum folks. We're doing some wider advertising to get the word out. We want everyone on this auction site (even your mother-in-law:eek:)!

Hi Pete,

Best of luck with your new auction site! I know how much you and your staff have worked to make CGA a useful and exciting site. Congratulations on establishing a definite launch date. I look forward to visiting the site often!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Peter,
Trust me, you don't want my mother-in-law on the site, but I'll be there!
Great job!
Mike

This sounds very interesting. I hope it all works out.

Hats off for all the energy that is and has been needed to get this going.

Congrats and good job Rev Pete :D! This is exciting news indeed and sure to chew up more of my time and money :p! I've really been looking forward to this, and would like to wish you good luck and minimal headaches on this new venture! Thanks for everything, Joe

Rev Pete,

A few questions about the new auction site.

Will it only be available for toy soldiers?

And... as a buyer, since it will be open to everyone, will their be anything in place to protect a buyer from being "ripped off"?

I don't want to sound like a nay sayer, but I'm all too familiar with the darker side of human nature. :(

This is great news. An alternative platform to sell toy soldiers is most welcome.

Thanks very much for the time and effort to put this together.

Best Wishes for the Launch of Changing Guard Auctions

Raymond.:)

I wonder how much a mother in law would sell for? Enough for a set of soldiers or just a single?

Changing guard, I just love the name! I'll be checking it out, have some items that need a «change of the guard» and I have been waiting for this!

Cheers,
Paulo

It's intended for all things military...like art, books, movies, diorama accessories, etc...

And yes, the darker side of human nature...

We will be allowing buyer AND seller feedback, which will prove helpful to many people. Something other sites quit doing. Anyone abusing the system will quickly be banned.

In specific, though, there are only a limited number of protections that any auction site can provide (short of hiring the mob to take care of things...).

Using Paypal does in fact help.

Peter,
If you have a fair per diem and cover expenses, I'm available!

Congratulations on getting this finally going. Wonder who your lawyer was ;)
