Where can I get the best rate for changing money once I get to London? I know my hotel will do it, but it's not a very good rate.

Based on experience, you're better off going to a bank. You'll also probably need some money to get from the airport so you probably should do that in Minnesota if you can. If not, at the airport. You won't get a good rate but you need to have a little to get into town.

most post offices and travel agents will do it commission free for you as far as i know banks still charge rates for exchange

Yo Peter, as rekp says the Post Office is the best, ask the London guys if there is a Post Office near to the Toy show, they also change it back for you if you are still there when they are open.

Peter,

Bank or Post Office is your best bet, most banks charge commission but give a better exchange rate, whilst the Post Office doesn’t charge a commission fee but gives a lesser rate. Swings and round a bouts I'm afraid.

Look forward to meeting you on Saturday, which Hall are you in?

Jeff

Pete, I think there is a Barclays Bank just up the road from the Hotel.

I usually get some from my bank before I leave ( requires notice cause they don't have much call for GDP in the Apple Capital) Once in London I go to any bank and draw on my VISA card. The exchange rates for the home bank and VISA seem about the same.
