Hi guy's I have started to change my collecting habit's. I used to only collect K&C and I have to say they are great in every way . But now I am collecting alot of other brands . Is this what happens over time that you move on to other things and time periods. Has this happen to you and is this just a step in toy soldier collecting . Simmo.

Simmo, I think many collectors have phases in their collecting where they look at other eras and
producers, it's a natural part of the collecting ' gene' . I myself started on metal figures with WW1 Toy Army workshop and built a large collection before discovering K&C. Overthe years I've added many
Figarti and TG to my collection but I now find I've come full circle in that I am now almost exclusively collecting K& C , it's the product I enjoy most and that I feel offer me most for my interests. Now I
am sure Clive at Figarti and Tom at TG will no doubt have custom from me over the coming years ,
but the more I look at my collection and see how it's growing just how I want it to the happier I am.

I also love the look of ACW a great deal and am going to do something in the future. The variety ,
range of eras and panting are what makes this hobby fascinating and it would be real boring if we all collected the same thing all the time.

For me I started with K&C but now I'm only buying Figarti and odd tank from CS . The good thing is there a lot of choice out there in general

I think as K&C was really, for a long time the only real matt producer and, really took the hobby by storm, its obvious many will have been their customers. However, as more brands have started to release ranges its also as obvious that collections will become more diverse and, eclectic. Its no big deal some will spread their money across the hobby some will centre on one manufacturer but, thats a personal choice.

I get the impression from a lot of posts that moving to another manufacturer is seen as disloyal and needs some form of clarification to the former!!! for me, its not the case. its just a natural evolution and awareness that there is a lot of manufacturers to choose from

I have always been attracted by the many different styles made by the many different manufacturers and have always bought across a large spectrum of makers and styles. I tend to like just about everything, regardless of era or matte or gloss. It is a terrible weakness, being unable to restrict myself to one maker, but I feel I would just miss too much with all that is offered. Obviously, I can't buy everything, so hard decisions are made, but generally the decisions have little to do with a particular maker, more often it is the subject that is the deciding factor, such as gloss NWF or matte WW1 aircraft. -- Al

For me I started off with Conte ACW with a few Britains thrown in then it was Conte Romans, then vikings ,KC Crusades line then Jenkins FIW.I have some interest now in Conte's NWF,Romans,CS Romans, Britains Sudan and especially Conte's upcoming FFL.I may collect FFL but don't see myself getting into the others.Right now I'm not collecting anything just getting a few kits painted up.
