Charge of the Light Brigade (1 Viewer)

I would love to get all four pieces but the exchange rate makes them awefully expensive for US buyers. You're looking at $750 if you include the 20% shipping. :(

If you're going to Chicago, you'll be able to save that 20% as the Nevilles will be there selling the first issue.

I can't go to Chicago. Do you know if they usually attend the West Coaster?

For that kind of money, you could get one of the amazing new warbirds!

kurt

not sure on your maths but you guys do not pay UK VAT therefore a complete set of Crimea sets 1 - 4 will set you back around $470USD not $750USD

Sorry not at westcoaster.

May i suggest you e-mail on tony@kingandcountry.co.uk in london until Monday so i will reply then witha cost for you.

Have you joined our collectors club?

regards

Tony

mmmmmmmm mind if i sold them at $750 Louis i will be doing this message from my house in the BVI and smoking a big fat cigar rubbing my big (OK Bigger) fat belly! :D

Great job Rick, the base I thought it was part of the set. These figs in my opinion, are in a class all to themselves, Thanks for the pics. Mike:)

Tony,

Here's my calculation (69.95+69.95+79.95+99.95)=319.80 Brithis Pounds. 1 Pound = $2 US Dollars (319.80x2)=$639.60 + $127.92 (20% shipping) = $767.52

I hope I'm wrong, though. I'd be happy to pay $470 for the whole set.

Kurt

Your Maths is good its your international calculations which are not correct.

You don't pay UK VAT @ 17.5% so you can take this off of the cost price.

Also the baks may say $2 USD to the pound but reality your card company will give aout $1.85USD to the pound

e-mail Monday and I will give you a to your door qoute, trust me not one customer to the USA has paid $750USD or if they have iam sending this from the BVIs and enjoying life, instead iam four pints down and getting ready for a long weekend promoting and selling K&C!

Kurt,
I paid for mine back in December and my credit card charge in US $ was pretty close to Tony's estimate of around $470. so $767. is way of the mark.

I have quite a bit of K&C WWII and a few Napoleonic cavalry and the comparison of painting detail seems much better on the Charge sets. The painting on these seems more like what you would see on the Russian Saint Petersberg painted figures. The painting is more intricate and the shawdows and highlights are blended seemlessly. Not sure if this a result of K&Cs overall improved painting or if it's a result of quality control guidance handed down to K&C from the Neville family. Anyway, I consider it one of my best purchases and certainly one of my most satisfying purchases of any K&C sets.

Semper Fi!
Rick

Thanks for the information, Rick. I'm glad to hear about the correct price. This is going to have to be my next purchase.

I believe you about the quality. Judging from the pictures, this 4 piece collection looks like the best thing K&C has ever produced. Everything is top notch... poses, sculpting, painting and a great subject.

I was blown away when i got mine.I was so pleased as it was the first time i'd preordered a large set in one go and it was so worth it.The quality is superb and i was fortunate enough to win the base that Tony made which goes perfectly with it.I can't wait for the add ons in December.

I'm sorry mate i don't have a camera at the moement:eek:(my wifes lent it out!)but maybe i could ask Tony if he can.

They are really well done. The attention to detail was terrific. I am definately going to get the next installment in December.

Just finishing to watch K&CUK TV - Charge of the Light Brigade, Second Release.

Even if the images are poor (better in the report in respect of HK), it is possible to see that the upcoming figures will be great.

Even if the first release was pricey (in respect of what we use to pay in America), I do not have any regret to have bought them. No catch up to do. Just have to save money from six months to six months. If not the greatest serie made by K&C, not far from it (except SOHK of course :)).

Thanks to Tony who made it possible that I bought them.

Everyone of you who may be tempted but don't buy it because of the costs, my humble advice: go for them. They worth their price.

Pierre.

P.S. I feel I made several spelling errors and syntax mistakes. Sorry.

I second that Pierre, well worth the money.

Rob

I talked to Mike on Friday about a bunch of different things and ordered one for delivery in Chicago.

My reasoning was as follows: it's been selling well so who knows how long it will be around, especially with subsequent series, and I can always FJs, FoB, etc. any time. Secondly, I'm saving a lot of money from the shipping. Third, how can you not love Tennyson and fourth, I love the Nevilles!

Reason enough, I say.
