Oh dear,:( I have just stumbled upon some Britains Premier sets, and they look awesome. These figures make me want to collect WWI. Does anybody know what happened to Charles Biggs? Is he still making WWI figures? If so, where can one find them? Is there a website? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi
I have a lot of both Britains premier and Charles biggs premier model company figures ,my understanding is charles biggs had problems with
marketing and distribution so having worked for britains for many years
britains ran with his figures and then I think bought the range from him.
I could be of base here but remeber reading something about it a few
years back.
Neither range is available anymore as britains no longer produces them
and Charles Biggs premier model company is long since gone.
The odd shop still some in stock or E bay.
If you buy them try and get the sets when they where released in the
Black boxes as in my experience these are superior.
When britains dropped the premier label some of the quality was pretty
patchy at best [ie us dodge ambulance, mineweffer etc]
cheers

I bought pretty much the whole Britains Premier range back in the early to mid 1990's. The figures and vehicles are sculpted and painted to about as a high a standard as I have ever scene in gloss finish. If I ever had the room for a large glossy WWI diorama, I would definitely display them.

I carried both the Britains Premier and Biggs range. The Charles Biggs range was far superior to Britains take over of the castings.

Damian: Thanks for posting pics of the doughboys. I like the wwl glossy figures. I don't have Biggs's figures but got the Britains line. Also, I have DJ miniature figures I got years ago. There is an article and pictures of them in this months Toy Soldier and Model figure magazine. I also have Fusilier and some Frontline and Trophy guys. Leadmen
