Yo Troopers, bought some Stadden models it was a blind buy having not seen them "Who Dares Wins" lol. Had a few casualties bent weapons etc even though they were all boxed, which I will sort out in the daylight, seeing as they did not arrive until 7pm. Opening the boxes started to go on a bit of a downer seeing the bent weapons, then the Big one (The lottery win) the last two were painted at the family home and the earliest models I have so far. First Chas # 64 Piper Royal Corps of Transport. 1980. Has a Blue base, even though it looks black like the factory painted ones and signed A Stadden '81. of course Chas son Andy Stadden. Then the amazing Chas # 7 Private Winter Dress American Continental Line - 1776 with a Red base only done in the family home signed S C Seymour 79. Now must find out who the artist was, Andy Stadden did tell me the girl who lived next door was one of the best painters they had, she was so good they took her on full time. Not forgetting these were very early days in the Chas Stadden Studio venture into 90mm models. This must be the first painting of the Continental with the white Buckskin jacket all the rest from the factory had a dark blue jacket, there is a version in my albums. So from a downer start, ended up in the clouds
.
What a find
. Forgot to add, also the earliest box I have seen with only 18 models shown for sale, usually they show 47 models. Then of course by the time Chas retired he had done 212 of the most superb models ever made.
