Nice work,

I have a few of these in my collection,

but I painted them with a gloss 'toy' finish.

Lovely brushwork on these figurines. Do love the colour variation in the uniform.

Cheers,

They look good John.
I am a great fan of your site and what you do and spend a many happy hour looking at your efforts which I am sure are appreciated by many for not only your skill but your contribution to the hobby.

Thank you Grey. I have a fair swag of Armee d'Orient figures to paint. Too many figures, not enough hours in the day.

Hi Rod

great little scene. Love the Sekmet and reptiles!

love the stories behind each piece and the attempts at search and rescue. Hahaha shelf of doom. I call mine forlorn hope. I remember buying several times from eBay various discarded Historex figures at cheap prices to attempt to salvage them.

That czech company is Artmii. I think they only produced three figure kits.

I notice that you have a lot of these models and vignettes and I hope you post them all! Do you label your pieces or not at all?

Rgds Victor.

Thanks Victor. I have names on a couple and that is it. Most are named under the wooden base, dated and signed.
My plan is that next year I will start to spend some time making and printing out labels etc. To get them done professionally would cost me an arm and a leg.
Why next year? That is when I will have spare monies to do all of these extra things plus additional spare time.
In between time I am trying to concentrate on finishing what I have started and at a quick count that is about a 100 single figures, 8 doubles and 6 vignettes.
So loads to do. I gave myself a year to get that lot done. I am currently painting 3 items per week on average (give or take) and some weeks up to 5. Depends on how complex things are I may get a civilian done in one day.
Every so often I will take a week off and just do no painting or modelling. I spent on average up to 5 hours a day painting etc and yet still have time for domestic stuff, watch a movie, go for walks etc.

And bang on about Artmii. One French, one Russian and an Austrian.

Cheers
Rod
