It would be nice to have some cheering civilians in order to create some "liberation " scenes . The use in dioramas could be endless

The other week I visited a friend who makes some wonderful dioramas using 1:35 scale kits and scratch built buildings.

This one shows exactly what you suggest, I painted the figures.

I agree would love this!

However my slight change would be:

Have them - women, men, children- waving etc and have some with small holes in their closed fists. In these holes can be placed different colour handkerchiefs - blue, red, white, orange (dutch). This would make for them being able to be used in various scenarios!

Perhaps a few seated young women riding with the liberating Allied troops and for that matter a few seated troops.

Were those from ICM or Dragon, John? Some other maker?

A number of scale model companies, like ICM and Dragon, have pretty good catalogs of civilians in 1/32 or 1/35, to go with armor kits. They've got them for different time periods, too, though WWII is the most common.
