We have been put on notice by Rick that Figarti will be continuing its tradition of "shock and awe" pieces at this years Chicago Show luncheon. So, the question becomes, what form will this year's shock and awe piece or (more likely) pieces take?

With the retirement of Honour Bound's "Golden Series" I am hopefull that Figarti will take up the torch, or "step up to the platter" and blow everyone away with a 1:30 scale King Tiger and Firefly Sherman up to the level of quality one would expect for a "gold" "platinum" or "diamond" series vehicle, perhaps signifying the launch of a Market Garden series.

All of the above would be most welcome mate;)

I suspect it more likely that we are going to get something that ties in with the desert, a winter battle or an airfield, as those are the series Figarti seems to be running with . . . but a guy can dream!:p:rolleyes:

Sure am looking forward to the pictures!;)

dammit Louis, you are really getting me all excited now.. :)

hopefully they produce something else from the V1 & V2 series.

since they had a long tom, a desert 88 is due.

and winter beckons, and (hopefully) the whitewashed King Tiger looms..

What have been their previous S&A releases?

I hope Figarti keeps on with there just a little different releases.
The world has enough tigers, shermans etc
Gary

My chips are on the ME-163. KC jumped the gun on that so maybe...

What have been their previous S&A releases?

The first shock and awe release, two Chicago shows ago, was a 1:32 scale Tiger Tank that came apart (the top deck of the turret came off, the turret lifted off, the deck of the tank chassis lifted off, and all the hatches were hinged and opened as well) and had complete interior detail - it was hand assembled from over 900 metal pieces, and is far and away the best armored vehicle ever produced by a toy soldier company.

Last years shock and awe releases were the 1:30 scale E-Boat (Schnellen Boat or swift boat) and the 1:30 scale flying fortresses, with crew, groundcrew, bomb carts, etc.

If Figarti can deliver the Storch Feisseler, it's a coup!

Other shock & awe items (CS, Figarti, or KC...that's in alphabetical order)

Dragon Tank Carrier
M32 Tank Recovery Vehicle
Hanomag 251
M3A2 Personnel Carrier
AEC Matador (dessert EA and Normandy versions)

N-P

Maybe even the final of the v weapons, the v-3 cannon system:D:D.

My guess is a U-boat that you can open...

JP

That's an excellent guess - a small U-Boat or a U-Boat conning tower - everyone has wanted one for a while, and it would go with the theme of the Swift Boat. I think you may have nailed one of the surprises.

hopefully not.. not because i do not want a Uboat... But precisely because i will want one.. I call this the 'Das Boot' effect. :)

But I wouldn't know where to display them. Maybe in a fish tank?

If a Uboat does come out, it looks like i have to clock in some more overtime hours :D

Together with the Western Front these are my main areas of interest, so I can't lose :D

Oz,

In this hobby, with the great companies constantly one-upping each other with better and better products, the only thing we lose is the contents of our wallets and bank accounts!:D:p;)
