You've a very naughty, naughty boy Robert!:D:p:rolleyes::)

Well guys,

That’s just about it. I’ve pretty much posted all of the photos that I’ve taken of any quality. My apologies to Frontline for not taking any of there fine sets; especially their new WWI sets. Also, next time I’ll look out for any Zulu sets out there.

Nancy (my wife) and I had a wonderful time and met some great guys and gals out there again and some for the first time. The Chicago Show for me is more than picking up a retired set missing from my collection at a reasonable price. It’s about the experience of hanging out with follow collectors that have the same passion for the hobby and also having complete accessibility to the manufacturers.

My special thanks to Andy/ Gordon Neilson (K&C), Rick Wang (Figarti) and Richard Walker/ Ken Osen (Britains) for being so accessible; you guys truly enhance our experience at the Show.

It was most generous of Shannon, Mike Hall, Tim Tyler and Bill Sager in footing the expenses for the King and Country Diner and Andy for the wonderful KC gift. Likewise, Rick Wang, Figarti always puts on a wonderful “Shock and Awe” Luncheon and this year was not exception. Again, thank you for your figure gift too.

See you at the West Coaster (Irvine, CA), March 2, 2008.

Carlos,

Thank you for your wonderful photos! It was such a pleasure seeing you and your better half Nancy. I hope you can make it to the Symposium one of these days. If you ever take a trip to New York, you must allow my wife and I to take you to dinner, and show you around.

Regards,

Louis

Louis,

Thank you for the kind words. It's a real labor of love and a desire to bring a little bit of the enjoyment I experienced to others who could not attend.

I had a blast discussing the finer points of our passion called Toy Soldiers with you, Hans, Larry, and so many others I can't count.

I'm not likely to be able to get to the Symposium any time soon due to my commitments in supporting the West Coaster Show the week prior to your event.

However, I will look you up when Nancy and are in NY next and thank you very much for your invitation.

Carlos,

There are enough great guys in the area that whenever someone special like you and your wife come to town, we can arrange a "mini-symposium", with dinner at Larry's restaurant, dinner at my club, tours of Larry's Mark Hoffman's and my collection, for which we are often joined by Brad, Evilchuck, Bruce Whitman and, if he's in town, Hans.

Just let me know when you are coming and I will make all the arrangements.

Here was a great glossy set from Jack Updyke that I really liked.

Carlos thanks for the photo, Jack also back in the early 80's offered kit's of figures of "The Little Big Horn" featuring mounted and un mounted figues as well as Personality Figures in 54, 90, 100 and 120 mm. They were some of the finest sculpted figures available at the time and hold their own today against any that are being done today. He also had a series of figures he did on the Zulu War of which I own painted and have posted on the forum. It's nice knowing he's still active and I'm quite happy for him in having his Stage Coach being done.....The Lt.

Mind at least he kept a clearer head when it came to the girls!

Louis,

Thank you for offer. Nancy and I are likely to take you up on that next year.

Again thanks,

My highlights were meeting everyone again, talking to old friends from shows in the past and of course Shannon, Pete, Mandi and all the Treefroggers I met in person.
Joe Baker came by and we talked about dioramas and taking pix and all things toy soldiers for a long time and even Andy from KC came by to my room and checked out my 1812 Russians.I did not realize I was talking to THE man from King and Country !John Jenkins stopped by and we talked for the better part of an hour. Being treated like one of the gang by all the heavy hitters in the toy solider world was very special. So many friendly people into the hobby from every angle. That was worth the Airfare and hotel. Made my year!

Products and dsiplays
Barzo castle awesome
Conte 300 Spartans display made by Joe Baker simply thrilling. I went back 3 times to look.
Britains new Waterloo , ACW and AWI figs and scenics on display
KC Arnhem diorama. Eyepopping. Stared like a deer in the headlights.
Lots of new things to look forward to.
