Hey Gary, you're not bitter about the past are you?

Carlos

When Figarti first started I bought almost every thing they made. And upon receiving these items every time there was some sort of damage and I mean every time. I never would post this on the forums because I liked Rick Wang so much. A few times I contacted him about the problems and he made good. I always wanted one of Figartis "Schock & Awe" items so I decided to pull the trigger and sold off some items and bought the E-boat. Sure enough it arrived damaged a few broken parts but I chaulked that up as typical, repaired the best I could. No use sending it back as I knew the next one would arrive with maybe more damage. Then about 6 months later I noticed the paint peeling off the e-boat. It made me sick every time I looked at it. $1400 down the drain. So yes Carlos I'm bitter and always will remain bitter. I will say this. I do blame myself for being so stupid to continue to buy Figarti products knowing all the problems.
Gary

$1400 is nothing to sneeze at because that is a great deal of money but that happened a few years ago and shouldn't you put it in the past. I know I wouldn't be happy had it happened to me but, speaking for me alone, I would have moved on as I don't tend to dwell on the past.

Do you still have it, by the way.

No Brad I don't I sold it "as is" for around $500 cash and another $200 in trade. And no I don't sulk about it and it is only reminded when I see a post praising Figarti.
Gary

I can't say I really blame you. I saw some people trying to sell Figarti at the Show that was peeling.

I don't have a S&A item, but I do have $7,096 in sets of Figarti and several figures with peeling or all paint peeled off and one AFV I know about with peeling paint. When I first noticed several years ago, I stopped buying.

Since Figarti is under new ownership, it should be probably be considered a new company. Hopefully the problems of the past have been addressed, and new Figarti products are properly cleaned and primed before any paint is applied. A statement from the new ownership to this regard is not much to ask for, and would put many possible collectors minds at ease.

Neil, sorry, I can't remember.

Brad

Hello Brad:

We're you able to take pictures of the K5 figures? If so, where they different or re-issues from the original K5 Release?

How much are they?

Did all of the K5's sell at the show?

Thanks,

Carlos

Carlos,

I'm afraid I can't answer most of your questions, sorry.

Please see photos although they are not too clear. I don't know if the figures were different from the previously issued ones but the sculpting seemed the same.

I don't know if they sold any as I didn't ask Matt, plus I left at 1230. I will email him.

Thank you Brad

These look like reissued figures from the original release.

Do you remember how many figures?

Carlos

Carlos,

I sent an email to Matt with your questions. I will post the answers when he replies.

Brad

I have a number of Figarti panzers and no paint flaking on any of them over the last 8 years. I think the problem Figarti had was either poor priming of metal models/ parts or contaminated paint limited to certain batches and or suppliers. I think the problem has been resolved as I have not heard on any problems for several years.

I have a large number of new and old mostly armoured Figarti vehicles (as well as a Loco and carriages) and I only had an issue with paint flaking on a couple of my older armoured vehicles and several figures that came with them. When Peter was still running Figarti he organised to get them fixed for me and the repairs (and freight) didn't cost me a cent. His customer service was brilliant and I haven't had any issues ever since.

I think anything they bring out will be fine and the new owners of Figarti will stand by their products.

Tom

Agree Tom....Fortunately I have had only 2 Figarti tanks with minor paint peeling issues....I will likely have them re-painted someday soon I hope.....Generally I think that the paint peeling issues have been resolved for some time now.....Peter always addressed these issues promptly for me as well ....Always Great Customer service when he owned this company..... and He provided me with a NEW Long Tom Cannon when I had paint peeling off the first one.....I am still a Figarti customer.

No or not the right type of primer. They were ahead of their time. Using tin alloy, aluminum barrels, brass etching, resin, metal, etc. They were using to many unfamiliar materials. Trying to raise the bar sometimes doesn't work out. They nevere really made good on anything. I was also stuck with the 'bad" items. I chucked a bunch of figures a few years ago.

Moving forward I think all this issues have been resolved. 2008-2009 is where the issues occurred. The last 5 plus years have been smooth sailing.

This is a new company more or less. I will work with them to to try and make the best products we can.

Carlos,

Matt told me that there were 4 K5s at the Show and they all sold. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

He also said there were 16 figures.
