Chicago Show 2010 advice please (1 Viewer)

Hi

I am thinking of visiting the 2010 Chicago show? Any advice please?

There is loads of advice in earlier threads of this topic "OTSN Chicago Show". Have a look through them. I found them very useful when I attended my first Chicago show this year. :)

Prepare to be amazed and awed with the sites you will see and that doesn't even include the city which in my sometimes humble opinion is the greatest city in the world which is probably what most people say unless they are from Gary Indiana or East St Louis Illinois.

Oh yeah, start saving your money.

I was born and raised in Chicago. I am in the city everyday for work. There is a lot to see and do in the city and surrounding areas. Great public transportation and easy to get to the surrounding areas, as long as it is not during rush hour.

The show is great too.

Start saving now.

Thanks for all the info, regarding the greatest city in the world, I lived for 2 years in the US and all your cities say that, but being from the UK and born in Sherwood Nottingham the home of Robin Hood and then living in Liverpool for 10 years and now I am only 50 minutes outside London, a place I like for the day and is really a world city.

Hi

I know thw show is on a Sunday, but here there are 'room sales' when do they start?

It usually starts Wednesday but if you're going to go I recommend coming in Thursday or early Friday because that's when it really kicks into high gear. That way you could attend the Figarti Luncheon and K & C Dinner on Friday.

I usually arrive on Thursday as do a lot of other folks on the Forum.

One minor piece of advice, if you are looking for early King & Country pieces, you have to arrive Wednesday morning and camp out in front of any available rooms or else Steven C and Greg K (showman on the forum!) will beat you to them.................

:eek::eek::eek:

Thanks everyone for the advice, any ideas for accommodation? I am coming over for a few days and want to visit Chicago for a couple of days as well

The Hyatt is where the show is and if you mention the toy soldier show you get a discount, however there are a few motels within walking distance that should be a little cheaper. I'd had to look up the names, don't know them off hand.
