This was a huge display on the 5th floor of the hotel. It's ACW Union fortification. $300 Playset I think.

To resurrect a dusty thread, I must say that Barzo/LOD buildings are a great deal for those, like me, who prefer to spend serious cash on soldiers rather than dioramas.
Anyway, check out LOD. I like the Aztec Temples & all the buildings. We got 2 walls of Troy. Great value but, like the big Aztec Temple, they have a large "footprint" (they take up a lot of room).
Any thoughts are welcome,
Best Wishes & Happy Collecting

Maybe see you all at the Chicago show.

Just got a whole whack of foam buildings. Hard plastic Walls of Troy etc. to come.
They arrived quickly. But Ken sells them all from good old Green Bay, WI - so we are close; just within driving-without-having-to-stop-to-pee distance.

The Aztec buildings look great! We have the lot (5 pcs.) They have minor flaws but are well worth the price. Hope to post some pics soon. (busy day)

Colonial (Lexington/Concord) town pieces are great, too. We live in a house much like the blue clapboard saltbox they sell (but we have plumbing, etc. Thanks be).

They fill in for our lack of modeling ability and, though not nearly as impressive as the resin pieces of the big manufacturers, are very affordable. Just wanted to share the fun. Again, pics someday (before Christmas... literally).

Best Wishes & Happy Scenery Collecting,
Paddy for Pat & Paddy

I will post in future on the new LOD thread.
We love the things we got. We'll take pics of most of it & show them there.
Though a rare departure from metal & resin, the Aztec buildings are a boon for us! Temple is magnificent for the cost.

Here's a couple of scenes I did with their field works. Covered the bases with scenic dirt. Looking fwd to your dios. Chris

You do a great job. Our dio will be full of flaws; our pic will be atrocious.
But we'll take some poor pics of our cool new stuff because I am truly happy with it.
We love your dios! Please keep posting!

As long as it's fun is all that matters. :smile2: Chris

Dramatic looking scene Chris ! :salute::

Foam scenery, looks just fine I think Pat and Paddy, especially when enhanced by scenic sand etc as Chris has used in his diorama.
Foam diorama pieces in 1.32 etc only seems to be available by ordering from the U.S. over here. I have a few Hobbybunker pieces I've gotten over the years which once painted up look pretty good to me anyhow, though skilled modelers, of which this forum has many amongst it's members, can surpass even the major manufacturers with their own individual creations.
Looking forward Pat and Paddy, to seeing how you display your new pieces.

All the Best !

Here's some of the big Aztec Temple. Great bargain!

We need some better photos of the other stuff. We'll work on it!

Happy Collecting!

The Aztec Pyramid scene you've set out looks impressive in it's scale.
Probably best not to annoy Mum adding sand on the table though mate ! :wink2:

May I suggest for some quite good looking Palm trees that aren't too expensive are these ones:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394192421400?hash=item5bc7b30218:g:Rs4AAOSw6ili7ubt&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAA

Expect you'll be able to find them on US ebay too if interested.

You do need to bend the palm fronds back in hot water though, as they look a little odd with the fronds sticking up !

Ha! Yeah best not to upset the mum.
Thanks for liking it & some good advice.
We'll work on the palms - we need to do some more tinkering with the new JJD drummer addition anyway!

We love your set-ups.
Best Wishes

Wow, fantastic collection and well displayed. :salute:: Thanks for posting. Chris

I wish that I had purchased Barzso's Columbiads when they were available.

They are hard to fine.

Benjamin

The Walls of Troy are very nice for the price. Unlike the website's pics, the crenellations are done in a realistic brown. We'll post pics whenever we open all of our JJD.
Thanks Barszo/LOD. You really helped our Troy, 1066 & Aztec ranges be more impressive but affordable.
Paddy

Which Seven new guys are in there?

finalaztec1.jpgfinalaztec2.jpgfinalaztec3.jpgfinalaztec4.jpg

Never mind, there are 7. 6 Spaniards and an Aztec drummer.

These are our last photos of the table with The Fall of the Aztecs before we change it to 1066.

Best Holiday Wishes,
Pat&Pat

What I think we need (other than some time and talent) is to take a pic in daylight (rare here) of the new Spaniards in better position with some more ground cover and our Conte parrots in the trees...
We may do so & attach it to our album by X-Mas...
When we will do 1066...
Which will include some LOD/Barszo pieces...
Again badly placed & photographed:redface2:...

So see you here again soonish and keep posting your pics and Happy Holidays to All!
