Hi Carlos,

Great to meet you at the show and thanks for coming by our room, your nice comments and taking all these shots to post to the forum. They came out really well considering the pathetic lighting we all get in the room.

I really should get some proper lighting for that room but we already have enough stuff to ship from HK. As we get the same room every year maybe I will buy some lights next year and hide them under the bed. No one seems to clean the rooms in that hotel so I reckon I would have a good chance of finding the lights there for the following year and many years forward! :D

Did you by any chance take any photos of the Ancient Collection in our room that came out well? We didn't take a proper camera this year and used Cynthia's phone to snap them (phones just get better and better - they will be washing clothes soon!) but the results aren't of great quality.:(

If you did and you could email the photos to me that would be very kind.

Ken:

Thank you for your comments. I enjoyed taking them.

Ancient Collection were the most difficult to take photos due to how the sun creating a silhouette effect on the figures. These where the only decent shots I could get of them, sorry about maybe I’ll have better luck next year.

Thanks Carlos,

Wow you do provide a very fast service Sir! Thank you for those pics.

Yes I know what you mean, it's a devil of a room to take photos in. Too dark in the morning, too bright in the afternoon and too dark again after sunset. At 1432 hours however it is just perfect, if the sun is out, we have discovered after 8 years of being there! :D

Thanks again!

Love the Colonials and the Ancients too. I could go right off the deep end- again.I was very pleased and completely enjoyed meeting you and your wife Ken.
I am so glad to see Treefrog carrying your troops now.
Thanks for the pix Carlos.Just a little more prodding and off the edge I go.

Thank you Harold for your nice comments and a pleasure to meet you too. It really is a great show and a tremendously social event and the more we go there and meet new friends it just gets better and better.

The only problem this year was that they closed the hotel bar! A bit short sighted of the hotel management in my belief as after checking with Bob (the head barman who was lurking around the lobby area at night this year) the Chicago show week trebles the bar takings of that bar compared with any other week of the entire year! This demonstrates just how thirsty both toy soldier manufactures and collectors alike are in my opinion!

One almost wishes one could set up shop in our hotel room for a year and just have weekly Fedex deliveries of new stock coming in, but alas the size of the collectors market would not bear that endeavour!

WAAAHHH!!! AWESOME STUFF!!!!

KEN- WHERE ART THOU?? We miss you here!! Hope all is well with you sir.

Carlos- thanks for sharing- I knew that stuff would look great!!
