The item in the background was a base that I patterned while I was a partner in ONWTC. This item was made of what our hobby calls polystone... a polyester resin with an inert filler and is rather heavy.

ONWTC made only 100 of these and sold them out quickly. I was working on two more companion pieces when the whole relationship with the other fellows involved in the enterprise went bad, so I pulled the plug on all new developments and got out of the company.

I may revisit such a concept again in the future as a US made series from Hudson & Allen Studio. I find my sample quite useful for displaying a special vehicle or grouping of figures.

Any thoughts from collectors on this?
Ken

Thanks for the info! I would buy any addition to it you made. I generally use mine to display small groups of figures that don't fit in with much. My favorite group to use is K&C's 71st.

Hi Ken,
Have you thought about making a colonial period (USA) powder magazine such as the following, http://www.flickr.com/photos/31291809@N05/7774654326/

Best wishes,
Benjamin

I'm sure you meant that for Ken, but I may be able to answer. I think it would probably take Ken less than a week to build such a simple entrance and mound, even if he were to do the interior. However, the such a structure would be more of a terrain piece than a building, sue to its being mostly just a mound. Because of this, I highly doubt any manufacturer would invest in a mold for such a big yet plain piece. Instead, I would go with a smaller time person, who i'm sure could do it for less than $200, most likely $120 or less. I would even do it if I were at home^&cool!
Hope that helps,
Sandor

Hi Sandor,
Yes my comment should have been phrased as question for Ken. Thanks for your offer.
Best wishes,
Benjamin

Thank you for the positive comments all,

If I were to create a pattern for a powder magazine it would be as part of a larger development of a late Eighteenth century fortification. This is something I would be very interested in doing, but it has many other projects ahead of it to finish before I would tackle it.

On another note I have a few other pictures of dioramas that we recently took to the Chicago OTSN show, and I thought I would share them here.
Equipment and dead from both sides littered the Norman countryside... Here Luftwaffe ground troops advance past an ancient farm and an abandoned U.S. 105mm howitzer just outside Saint Lo.
