All,

Has anyone here ever read CHICKENHAWK? I read years ago when I was in the service and man after reading that book I swear I was (vicariously) a Huey Pilot in Vietnam. It was such a good book that I would not mind reading it again. Anyone want to weigh in?

I read this book some 30+ years ago. At the time I was working with several Vietnam vets, one of whom was a former door gunner. I really enjoyed the book so I lent it to the former door gunner, who also enjoyed it and passed it on to another vet. It made the rounds in the Fire Department where I worked and disappeared somewhere while in circulation. The men I talked to all liked it. -- Al

Lancer,

Funny how that worked out. I received CHICKENHAWK while in a hole in the Gulf from a fellow airman. After I was done with it, I gave it to another guy and from there it was lost. I am going to have to buy that book again.

Read it, also about 30 yrs ago. Was at Eglin AFB where the author served his time, along with former MD governor Marvin Mandel. Very good book on Viet Nam.
