I just fail to see how this can be legal. These are from that Ebay seller from China Y-********. How can you just blatantly rip off someone else's product. And if this is indeed a factory that produces the figures, why don't all the manufacturers stop using this factory (maybe they have). It's across the board too - JJD, K&C, FL, etc...

I will not buy from them and I ask that we all respect our friends, the manufacturers of the things we love and collect, and not buy from this seller.

This is the seller that sold the Panzer IIIs that was of concern to First Legion, which resulted in Treefrog ceasing to sell them.

I don't get it...I looked at his items for sale...lots of K&C...some TG...Country Honor...but I can't finger anything suspicious about his product...other than how cheap they are and free shipping to the US...how can you tell they are illegal black market?

Don't forget, in addition, "Quality is higher than most 1/30 scale toy soldier COPMANIES."

this is going over my head...I'm just missing it...

I just don't understand how anybody would know these are illegal black market knock offs...

except the manufacturer himself...

and not even sure if Matt or Andy could tell the difference...

in some cases coming in original manufacturer's box...

I'm confused...missing the telltale giveaways that Average Joe can spot...

they all seem like pretty good deals...

plus free shipping from China to US...

Thankyou Zach for bringing this to our attention...As this is Sunday evening in HK there is nothing I can do tonight. However first thing tomorrow morning we will be investigating.

Can you send me the full eBay details. Thanks in advance, Andy.

Andy,

This seller has been selling many K & C products for awhile.

I just sent you a link to his auctions.

Morning Guys,

Zach, like Mike, I am confused as to what is the tip off here that the figures are not K&C, FL, Country Honor ... etc.

If you look at his Ebay web site the ad does say K&C, or FL and other names.

I never buy from Ebay, since I rather trust my $$$ to known and honest dealers like Mr. G at Minutemen, Nick at Crown and such.

Why is this guy doing something wrong when dealerxxx is also selling 1000's of toy soldiers and is not a distributor?

BUT I will NOT buy from y-*****, out of loyalty and respect for Andy and the K&C folks.

(Color me confused)^&confuse

I can't tell from the photos on ebay. The only way to tell is to buy a figure on ebay and compare it to the genuine figure from your collection. The AFVs he is selling are clearly lower quality just from the photos

I just did a cut and paste of a dozen photos of HIS figures with the same figures off of K&C and Minutemen websites.

You are very right, Terry with the comment on the paint quality.

Despite given the variance in color by cameras, lighting and postings it is clear to see that (for example) K&C's are much richer and crisp when you look at the details and shading.

Still, if I saw it at a table at a show, I am afraid that I am not experienced enough to notice the difference in anything except K&C AWI and current JN's / AF's sets.

Andy,

He sells knocks offs, or copies, of your product under the label of 'kind and country'.

Also, the AFV's are missing quite a bit of detail that is on the original and if I remember correctly, no weathering on the copies. Probably the same for the NAP figures.

Terry

Really sad to see cheaper knock-offs. Although the prices might appeal to collectors who do not know that these are copies, this is just wrong. I hope you can put a stop to this, Andy. I heard copyright regs. are not as strict in China as in Europe and the States. Good luck!

EDIT:

Not at all trying to make light of this, but guess he was shooting for "kinder on the pocket book"... :D

I have a few of the tanks, they are good quality, no weathering, hatches open and there is no figures, I do not know about the figures, but they are producing a tank [Panzer II and III, which I have], so on the tanks it would be interesting to try and claim they are 'copying' someone else's tanks, unless they are using the moulds, however I can see where you are coming from when it comes to figures with the same poses etc.

Larry...I'm like you...while I do occasionally buy stuff on Ebay...it's rarely figures...I try to give my money to my dealers...still...the idea of counterfeit figures in the hands of this guy and unwitting buyers...really does put you off the secondary market...I'm not gonna download stock pictures of figures to compare to Ebay offerings...I'll just try to stick to people I know and trust...still to the untrained and innocent eye...you could really get screwed on this...

Andy...I would think Ebay might address this problem if asked...they don't want counterfeit items on their website...probably have better luck with them than the Chinese government...

This is ongoing problem. It come up on Planet Figure a lot.People from China and Russia seem to be the worst offenders. When you shut one down 5 more pop up.

This is nothing new. These knockoffs happen with everything. If you manufacture in China it's part of doing business. Unless you have someone in the factory making sure unused product is distroyed or acounted for it will probably be "Backdoored" and end up on the secondary market. You can report them to eBay, but good luck. If there a good earner for them they won't do anything about it. If they do the seller will just make a few changes and relist the items.

These guys just buy the original kit and recast it. The quality is usually crap.
