All quiet on the forum front so here's a question for you Imperial collectors:

From an earlier thread it was clear to me that people agree that David Cowe is an incredibly talented sculptor, (and Kay an equally impressive painter), and that it would be a "good thing" if he could concentrate his efforts on sculpting rather than production/manufacture of figures, especially given their limited capacity and sunset situation.

My question is this, if a new range were to be in the pipeline (don't read anything into this, I do not have any information and do not know the Cowes well enough that they would share it with me if there was any) should David concentrate on Military or Civilian figures?

Example - expanding town and around or C18th civilians, or say an extension to Napoleonics, or even a new range (Nelson at Trafalgar?... NW Frontier?...) retiring out some of the old ones?

My preference would be for Military as I consider them to be two quite separate markets and don't see myself in the civilian collecting zone, but its something that clearly has some demand.

Of course my ideal solution is that the Cowes continue for a practically impossible time period into the future and do everything fabulously but we need to visit planet earth from time to time.

Interested in your thoughts.

Without a doubt, Military. - And if it was only ONE line - Napoleonic

I can just imagine how great looking a set of Russian Pavlovski Grenadiers would be.

Although I very much enjoy the civilian side of Imperial I would of course choose military, so much that could still be done with that unmistakable classic flavour!

All the figures are wonderful . . . well sculpted and painted in a class by themselves. However, it civilian figures of Town and Around that are special . . . no one else has done anything like them. So I must vote for late 19th C to WW1 civilians as the way to proceed.

I realy like the civilian figures , but being a toy soldier collector
I would have to go with military an Imperial Delhi Durbar line
would have been fantastic imo.

But At this point , I would prefer to see a few of there existing releases
expanded on to make bigger displays of certain units .[such as a colour party and some marching figures for the crimean cameron highlanders].

I would prefer military.
A new line would be fantastic - or new sets under existing lines. But Boer Wars or Indian Regt would be fantastic as well.
It would be nice for anything new from Imperial really - maybe a brand new Heirloom Set.

Wow thats a thought! - an item for the true collector. Don't know about price though what's 40 x USD30 per soldier .. USD1200.
An Indian Mutiny heirloom set? Maybe a 1777 heirloom set, or two birds with one stone a Napoleonic Heirloom set!

I'd like to see more civilians, especially 18th century, where there is currently a dearth of figures, apart from old Rose and Phoenix (and new, thanks to John Eden and 43rd Ltd), and the handful in Britain's catalog. Having civilians extends the borders of possibility in displays.

Prost!

Here is a couple of shots of the few civilians I have as a back drop to parading figures . I might have to add a few more to get my Imperial fix ;).
