Now now Ron,you mustn't start misbehaving. You were told there won't be any US in North Africa and if your a disobedient boy Napoleon won't let you hurl your cavalry at the nasty old British will he!!!!

So now would be a good time to produce that desert Ambulance don't you think? (not to mention the BEF version plus crew)

Heniken is not a German beer and most of them won't drink it. Lowenbrau would be more like it. Bitburger, Parkbrau, Spaten, Warsteiner, all would be ok. I may not know toy soldiers but I dang sure know beer:) Heniken is Dutch and could have been shipped to the desert but the men wouldn't have been happy.

If the AK had got hold of all that beer they may not have done as well as they did!.I agree that both a desert and D Day ambulance would be cool.Still i want a few of those lovely Opel trucks first so no hurry.

It was just an honest question...:D

A question on this point.Would US Troops in NA look much different than D Day troops.Did the uniform vary much?.

I thought Andy said he would not be making them because of this reason.

Ron, Rob, et.al.,

DDay uniforms versus North Africa: Not a heck of a lot of difference. Helmet camo nets were very uncommon in Tunisia (if used at all). No M1943 "double buckle" boots, none of the green field jackets (like the US mortar crew and some others are wearing). During the winter of 1942-43 there were a number of overcoats for the desert winter. Andy did produce an M3 "Lee" tank, a jeep, the WC54 ambulance, the 2 1/2 ton truck, a halftrack APC in previous sets. Currently he has the 3/4 ton weapons carrier and the M3 scout car. If Andy won't produce them, then let me know and we can work out a deal for some customizing and repainting. If Honour Bound or K&C do an "Alamein" M4A1 Sherman then it could also be done up for the 1st Armored Division in Tunisia.

Thanks Gary thats very interesting. So as you say not a lot of difference.

Rob

Andy also said he won't do a Sherman. He said he would rather do a British tank but then he quickly added that didn't mean he's doing one either.

Ah Brad,do you think he was protesting to much?!.

Rob

No, I think he was serious but you know he always reserves the right to change his mind.
