Mate,

I've got a plan. It's a cunning plan, no less. Can't give away too much on an open forum, but it involves electronic take over of Durham's traffic management system, a small team, a coach, 3 small cars, oh, I dunno, lets say Mini Coopers since they're British :)rolleyes:), and a small quantity of explosives.

I don't think it's been done before, so we should have the edge.

Are you in?

My plans are to simply pick up any WBTS pieces that come out from K&C with some others sprinkled in as I see fit.

I have a plan every year and then I see the new releases and KABOOM the plan is vaporized. Hopefully, the Komet followed by the Luftwaffe figures. Then any retired sets I can fill in that I missed or any new retirements.

I plan on expanding my Little Legion Zulu collection, pick some K&C World War I figures and some K&C tanks and whatever else I see that I must have.

I plan to collect very selectively only those figures I really feel are "must haves". Right now, the only purchases I have planned are the K&C air war figures & the Comet, and the John Jenkins Jacobites.

Interesting Louis, very interesting.

I have to agree with you. The economy is unpredictable and my wife and I will be making some key investments this year. Therefore, "Cash is King" and "Debt Kills". I too will be limiting my toy soldiers acquisitions by 50-60%.

Tough, I do plan to go to the West Coaster, Texas Show and Chicago Shows this year.

Carlos,

Come to the Symposium instead of one of the other shows, and you can have tons of toy soldier fun without spending money!;)

I don't see any K&C purchases next year and I too will be slicing my soldier budget by half for 2009. My top priority will be Britains Zulu War matte figures and I'll be looking at the First Legion Napoleonics, especially the new Guard figures. :)

My main focus in 2009 is to pick up some K&C WWII figures at the Symposium - :D:D:D - Opps ... did I just that out loud ??

I'm in mate!;)

I know a 'geezer' in West ham who can provide 'shooters' if we need them, actually they are water pistols but if we shout rude words when we point them it may work, hang on though..Mike's got a Bren gun!.This could be a tricky one.Why don't we wait until they have eaten all their mince pies tommorow and have fallen asleep in front of 'The Magnificent seven',we can be in and out before the Queen's had time to finish talking!;):D

Got me thinking of Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, with the Bren gun thing. Tony Neville could take the part of Jason Statham. Could probably do with working out a bit first mind.;)

I will buy a few Civil War figures, mostly specialty ones like cavalry, Zouaves (Conte!! hopefully), etc. As for WWII, I am doing mostly BOB, but may get the Comet and a few air guys (maybe the King Tiger too - still not sure on that one). I am going to start a multi-era collection, representing mostly soldiers but a few civilians too, ranging from ancient times to now. This will be a multi-year, gradual project, and I am especially interested early on to add Egypt, Rome, Crimean War, WWI, China, and a few more Napoleonics.

I will collect for 2009 .

the new britsh troops ww2 raf, luftwaffen, arnhem ,napoleonic
and all the models i like .

richard .;)

I'm making a New Year's resolution to finish more of the unfinished figures currently on my bench. I already started, when I put my Christmas tree and the Putz underneath it, by finishing some figures that were a detail or two away from completion. But I could probably spend the whole year working on figures I already have, and still have some castings or kits left over.

As for new purchases, more Tradition Seven Years War British and French infantry, but not until I finish the kits that I already have.

I would also like to get Hussar Miniatures (sold by Fusilier) Prussian hussar kits.

And more of Britain's SYW 1st Foot Guards, from the Redcoats series.

Prost!

I really need to complete diorama projects that I've started, especially with K&C's Lancers coming in Jan. 2009 will most likely mean that I'll expand my K&C Napoleonic range, and will consider various St Petersburg assortments and periods, however, to be completely impartial, the First Legion lines will now blow my budget to new heights. Price increases or not, I think collectors will have to spend within their means. I know I will. Its all relative to an individuals financial resource IMHO.
