There's at least one very nice Heco Tinplate Biplane. I was wondering if the double turret armored car was tinplate, as Heco made one (either an Austin or a Crossley armored car, I can't remember).

The tan double turret armored car..Who made that..I have the same car painted different with no mfg. markings on it..When I showed it to the forum several years ago, no one could identify it.. Just curious. Michael

Michael,
I looked for a mark, but did not find one. Could be Heco, Toy Army Workshop or a special order made for Toy Soldier Gallery. I will try to find more info as I recall seeing a catalogue of his collection. Lawrence

Thanks for sharing these, Lawrence! I especially liked the gentleman's group of Vertunni figures, you don't often see anyone with a collection of them, more than a couple of figures.

Prost!
Brad

Brad,
There must be more than a dozen different makers in his collection. I saw Britains, Frontline, Stadden, St. Petersburg, King & Country, Imperial, Trophy, Somerset, Marktime, Heco, Tradition and Vertunni. Maybe you can pick out others. Really interesting and eclectic mix. Glad you enjoyed seeing them as much as I did. All the best, Lawrence

Lawrence, you forgot to show another collection...yours. How about some pics of your display area?

Thanks for asking. I have some in my albums and will post some later. Sadly, I live in an apartment, so space to display the troops is a real issue and as such only have a few cabinets. These collectors have rooms larger than my apartment devoted to just their collections {eek3} I still have a bunch of photos from these collections that need to be resized and downloaded here. Once I get through them, I will post some of mine. Have a great weekend. All the best, Lawrence

Lawrence,

All I can say is WOW! What marvelous collections you have shown us. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you Lawrence for sharing your visits with us and providing the photos of them............Joe aka The Lt.

I agree Brad, you seldom see more than a few Vertunni figures, if any, in most collections. If you take a look at my December thread (on page 3) under Dioramas called "Bob Walker's 5th Annual Open House," you can see his shelf of Vertunnis in the French Room.

Holy crap, so much great stuff. Those cabinets are superb too. Well done on amassing such a collction.

Those are some collections, Larry! The last one contains the piece that brought me and Hans together: the original K&C Arnhem Bridge Diorama. The same somewhat less than reputable dealer (whose name will remain unmentioned to protect the guilty) had promised each of us the Bridge in exchange for spending thousands of dollars on K&C marked up 20% over retail, then (unbelievably:rolleyes2:) introduced us! Its nice to see the diorama, which in my opinion was one of Andy and Gordon's great early pieces, made it into the hands of a collector who obviously appreciates it.:smile2:

Lawrence, I'm stunned. What a magnificent collection. All it displayed on those outstanding white shelves. The white shelves really highlight the vehicles and figures. Congratulations on assembling such an impressive and wide ranging army. -- Al

Amazing how much people collect over a period of time. When I think back of what I've bought in the last 15 years it kind of staggers the mind.
Mark

Thank You Lawrence for the photos of the outstanding collections acquired in this hobby. I enjoyed viewing the photos and your efforts to inform us. John
