I realise that it is impossible to please everyone with the choice of figures offered to Collectors Club members each year. However, in view of some of the new ranges already announced for the autumn catalogue, can I put in a request that the choice for 2016 include a suitable figure for either (or both) WW I and WWII.

Funny you should mention this. I was working on the list this morning for the next 4 figures as they will be announced in the winter Standard and I decided to get a jump on them this year do they are availible much earlier.
It is a really hard choice any more and in addition to these I will few offering additional club figures through the year.
I will let you know more soon.

What about a civilian figure that could be used for multiple eras? That might be a big hit.
On another note, I miss Napoleonic club figures......:wink2:

Ken,
Did the British carry and display their Flags during battles in the Sudan? There is no Standard bearer in The "War Along The Nile" series and the British flag sure adds color to a diorama or small battle scene. I thought it would be nice to introduce a Camel Corp Flag bearer to this line for Abu Klea. Just an idea and a wish.

I agree; I hope space can be found for a Napoleonic figure for the collectors' club offerings in 2016.
What about a dismounted British aide-de-camp or similar staff officer to go with this year's figure of Wellington?

The last two years here in the office are making me feel that we might need to offer more than four selections in 2016.
As club members already know, the four figures previewed in the winter standard are for renewels although addition figures can be purchased.
I am working on these sculpts right now to have them on time for next year...maybe I should increase the selection to six.
Any thoughts here?

I would think that 4 figures would be the bare minimum, and six offerings would give collectors a number of good choices. Just by looking at the space devoted to each range in the catalog, I would guess that you would need to offer figures in ACW, AZW, WWI, and Waterloo just to keep the majority of collectors happy. That leaves nothing for Clash of Empires, Regiments (glossy), Jacktars and Leathernecks, War on the Nile, the new WWII range etc.

Personally, I'm most interested in ACW, so I'm likely to choose that figure. But if there were good choices in Waterloo, Clash of Empires, Regiments and WWII, I would seriously consider buying more.

Here is an idea- allot certain figures out of 6 to certain categories, as follows with examples:

American: Clash of Empires of ACW
Early British: Napoleonic or Museums Collection/Jack Tars and Leathernecks
Late British: Zulu or Sudan
World Wars: WWI or WWII
New(er) Range: [...]
Flexible Figure: glossy or civilian

I think something from one of those categories would satisfy most collectors.....

Yes - with increasing number of ranges you need to increase the number of club figures to six as a minimum. Perhaps spread them out and have a Spring selection and a Winter (Christmas) selection.

It's a good idea to increase the number , I would buy extra figures from the 3 ranges I collect if they where offered as club figures , there always seems to be disappointment when club figures are not available from certain ranges , so it as to be at least six

Or would it be possible to allow members to choose a past figure, assuming it is still in stock? I know it would be an option I would choose and it would also free up inventory.

You can buy past figures, both Club figures and some event figures. I know that there are a number of Collectors Club figures that have not yet sold out. Please call or email Britains and ask what is available to club members. Also, what may be sold out in the UK may still be in-stock in the US and visa-versa.

All the Best,

Ericka

Hi Ericka,

Sorry if i wasn't clear, I meant choosing a past figure (that was still in stock) as a club figure if there wasn't one that you liked.

We have offered that option in the U.S. for some time now.
