A cold snowy weekend here in PA. So how about a few suggestions for the collector's club?

I will go with Christopher Gist who accompanied Washington on some of his early adventures and was with Braddock at Monongahela. He is also one of the figures depicted in the "Wounding of Braddock" painting by Robert Griffing.

Pontiac or Shingas.....definitely...Pontiac first...

both who some historians believed were at Monongahela.

"It is not known which Indian chiefs were present on the French side but it is suggested that the Miami chief Pontiac and the Delaware “King” Shingas may have been present. The party of 10 to 16 Iroquois who accompanied the British Force was led by Scarouady (Monocatootha)."

Pontiac would be great and move us toward you know what. :) I would also like to see Chevalier de Levis, but he doesn't work directly into any of the current lines.

Yes...I want them.....

but these would be mandatory figures for Culloden Moor I would think...

especially since it's so far from being unfinished...

Braddock...Rogers...Wolfe...Montcalm...for example...

Cumberland and Charles should follow as part of the series I would think...

I do want them both...

he would probably save a celebrity figure for a more obscure participant...

he may concentrate on B of M for a while....

there has always been a lot of interest in his first retired series...

a cast of characters would fill that role...

Lt Colonel Gage became British Commander in Chief in America on the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War.

Captain Horatio Gates became a major general in the American Continental Army and was in command at Saratoga.

Captain Charles Lee of Halkett’s 44th became a major general in the Continental Army.

James Craik became Washington’s surgeon.

Captain William Mercer became a major general in the Continental Army.

Lieutenant Hotham of Dunbar’s 48th commanded at Detroit in Pontiac’s war.

Colonel Robert Dunbar’s 48th Foot

Lt Spendelowe

Captain Rutherford

Captain Delamere
 
How about a James Cook for POA?

Or did any FIW soldiers/characters fight in the forty five rebellion?

Cook is a great suggestion. Braddock also had some royal navy men with him at Monongahela. I always wanted John to do a set of those.

I believe Wolfe was at Culloden. So that might be a possibility.

4 companies of the 44th under Sir Peter Halkett had been overwhelmed by the rebels in the Jacobite victory at Prestonpans in 1745. The 48th had been highly successful in the ’45, being one of the few regiments to stand their ground at Falkirk. There appears to have been considerable friction between the two regiments.
• Almost certainly a legacy of the ’45, Braddock and Orme treated the three Scots senior officers, Halkett, Dunbar and Saint Clair with contempt. Several of the Virginian officers may have been fugitives from the ’45: Polson, Craik, Stevens and Hogg. Polson was accused by British officers of being a Jacobite and demanded to be tried by court martial.
 
Think next figure or two will not be BoM, but maybe something very different such as from the Jacobites --- Charles Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) or Lord Murray from the Scots or the British Commander (Duke of Cumberland).

Chevalier de Lévis French Commander during the Quebec Campaign.

Possible to likely in the future, Captain Jean Daniel Dumas -- the second in command for the French at BoM. Lieut. Colonel Burton (BoM) - slightly wounded or Colonel Gage.

I am almost as stubborn as Combat, so I really want to see Captain Tatton of the 44th (BoM), guessing he was the Grenadier Captain has he was the senior captain, The figure depiction would be of a british grenadier officer directing the british firing line --- before he was killed!!!

Pontiac maybe iffy as the historical documentation for his presence is iffy.

My vote for the next firgure is the Duke of Cumberland, with ten bucks on Gist as the longshot!!!

Bah, changing my mind --- Dumas is the favorite!! LT. Orme is an outside shot as well, but the guy has really bad press!!

nobody is as stubborn as Combat......hehehehehe....just kidding Doug.....

I'm just assuming Bonnie Prince Charlie...Cumberland...Raill and Scott will be mandatory figures in their respective series....

Dumas...would be a good guess....

and Ken....

you would be happy with any officer directing your massive firing lines.:rolleyes:

You guys are starting to sound like my wife which is scary. :D Another possibility would be a second French flag bearer for Quebec. That might be more a general release suggestion though. I think that keeps John busy until about the year 3000.
 
This might take some time to finish the whole set ..but how about ..a smaller version of Fort Ticonderoga .......sell in pieces...like St Francis....or any fort of the time period?????

Don't get me started on Ticonderoga. Some line based on that battle seems like a must. I think the actual fort would be too large to reproduce even in smaller sections, but the battle itself took place outside the fort. So how about the Black Watch charging Montcalm's abbatis? I sort of use the "stockade" as a mini-fort.
 
MIKE....Thanks for the great links you posted on this forum.....It will be of great help to me and others. As a peace offering i will shut down the great snow machine for you.
 
I would like to see some small vignettes from the collectors club,such as the wounding of Braddock as in the painting,death of Breaujeu (with him actually falling dead).I think the cc is going to focus on personalities.Ticonderoga is more for a general range.
