Colors for WWII American BoB (1 Viewer)

Got a new genre starting. Here is an incomplete sample

So what colors should I be using? I think the helmet and webbing is good.
Not to sure about the trousers or jacket. I know I did not prime him. This is the new Conte plastics

Here is some San Diego GI's I painted. I used mostly Tamiya flat paints.
Helmet- XF-62 Olive Drab
Belts - XF-51 Khaki Drab
Rifle-XF-64 Red Brown
Leggings-XF57 Buff
Trousers- XF-52 Flat Earth or Olive Drab
Packs-XF-59 Desert Yellow
Boots XF10 Flat Brown
Jacket XF-60 Dark Yellow or XF-51 Khaki Drab
That's what I tried on the figures. Lead

Yes they are San Diego Soldiers. Working on some Marines, Russkies and Japanese I got from them last Sept. Also, some Conte guys are primed. No painting lately. Leadmen

KV- Your figure looks great. Nice job. Now you done it. Inspired me to do some painting.I cleaned my work area and now I am ready to make a mess again.More primed figures here to start a painting marathon. Also, I got the Italeri 1/32 and 1/72 Italeri Napoleonic command sets to paint.I like their sculpting- especially the horses.I might wait till March to paint. Leadmen

The Winter Germans are from San Diego Toy Soldier and painted with Tamiya paints. Some figures had winter smocks added from A&B putty.
Tamiya-XF-64 Gun Stocks- Red Brown
XF-65 Field Grey- Coats- Helmets- Canteen Cups
XF- 1 Flat Black- Belts- some boots
XF- 24 Dark Grey- winter Helmets and Jackets-- Highlight with Flat
White.
XF-49 Khaki- ammo pouches, packs or bedrolls. Leggings and
canteen. Some ammo pouches and belts black.
XF-61 Dark Green- collars- gloves Some gloves dark grey.
X-10 Gunmetal- highlight pencil lead or silver/black mix.I also used some different weapons and equiptment from Airfix 1/32 Multipose kits and painted black electrical tape for slings. Some decals on helmets. Leadmen
Also, XF-10 Flat Brown used boots (later style)

Heres a tip . Find yourself some WINDSOR NEWTON NUT BROWN INK. You can thin it down with water to suit you, brush it on and it will flow into all the folds and wrinkles of the uniform, webgear between fingers etc. Gives a nice depth effect. If you need to after its good and dry you can drybrush and highlight the high spots. I use it on all kinds of figures.You will have to play with it some to get it to work just right for you but it is a marvel.

I do use the ink at times. I must remember to use it more. I usually use the games workshop ink.
