In the USA and perhaps elsewhere we will be celebrating "St. Valentine's Day" on February 14th. However, come this February 19th there will be huge numbers of people in China and many other parts of Asia who will be celebrating the Chinese Zodiac Lunar New Year of the "Ram or Sheep or Goat". Per my brief Online research The Year of the Ram represents, "solidarity, harmony and calmness".

I know the Treefrog Forum has a number of members who live in Singapore and I want to wish them and other members who live in other places in Asia a Happy New Lunar New Year! As I understand it the Lunar New Year consists of a 12 day period of assorted celebrations.

In honor of the New Lunar New Year of the Ram I have attached 5 overview photos of my most recent version of my 29 by 85 inch display of the circa 1897 Harbor area of Hong Kong, China with nearly all items shown being made by King & Country.

Happy New Year!

Dear Gary,

It is always a pleasure to see pictures of your excellent Streets of Old Hong Kong display. I think yours is one of the best displays, if not the best, that I am aware of.

Thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful wishes for the upcoming Lunar New Year.....much appreciated.

Best Wishes, Raymond.

Gung Hay Fat Choy!
That is an impressive collection of figures from the Streets of Old Hong Kong series. Although I do not personally collect the series, I find it to be very colourful and animated! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Brendan

I want to thank the Forum members who have posted kind remarks about my Streets of Old Hong Kong Harbor area display and also thanks to the members who hit the "Like" button at the bottom of my initial posting late last night.

I just showed my initial posting and reply backs by members to my wife, Karen. She noted that I should have also posted our vignette display using K&C SOHK sets of a Chinese Happy New Year celebration with the Grandparents, etc. giving the "Red Packet" gift to a grandchild, etc. Karen picked out all the background items of the "room" the figures were placed in. I did not think about this small display even though it is in the same room as our computer and once again my wife I have to say had another good idea! See one photo below.
