Lt. Gen. Sir William Birdwood, OC A.I.F meets with Lt. Gen. Sir John Monash, OC Australian Corps..........The Great War.

Wayne.

Looks really good Wayne. The entrance gate is a nice touch.

This little dio is great! These figures are excellent, and I only hope that manufacturers release similar Canadian Corps figures.
Cheers,
Brendan

Brendan mate,
I would love to see a figure of Lt.Gen Sir Arthur Currie who commanded the Canadian Corp and so impressed Sir John Monash when the II Anzac Corp came under Currie's command that he push Haig harder to combine the five Aussie Divisions together as the Australian Corp. Haig always mixed up Currie with Monash as Currie was an Auctioneer from Victoria, Vancouver and Monash was an Engineer from Melbourne, Victoria.
Seeing the way the Canadians under Currie were set up and after a taste of unity with the Canadians at the Battle of Broodseinde, Monash finally convinced Haig to unite the Aussies.
After the Battle of Hamel when the Aussies had the British on their left flank and French of their right the front line had a huge bump in it where the French had made no ground whereas the Aussies and the British had pushed forward some distance.
Before pushing on towards Amiens, Monash requested and recieved the Canadians on the right flank replacing the French. The rest is History. General Ludendorff wrote in his memoirs "August 8th was the blackest day of the German Army in the history of the war".
I look forward very much to a Sir Arthur Currie figure to add to my collection.
Cheers Howard
