I wonder if it would be possible to make command sets for North Africa?.I'm thinking something along the lines of say perhaps Monty or Rommel, stood over a map table with a couple of officers in conference with him.Or maybe one of said officers pointing at pinned up map?.You could add perhaps a radio guy or guard?.And to take it further an AK Kubelwagon would look great parked outside.I thought this worked very well in Britains ACW series where they had a command set for both sides.I think it would be cool to have such sets for both 8TH Army and AK,a sort of hub for both forces.

Thats a nice set Oz.I think the Command idea would be very popular, with as you say a command Bunker/Tent?.It would be great to have a large map such as in the set you posted.Although a large map would really look good in a D Day scenario as well as North Africa. So if the AK set had a Kubel outside, what would we like as Monty's mode of transport?.

His mammoth.

Monty had an enormous command vehicle called a "mammoth" which was basically a command post/apartment on wheels. He kept a photo or painting of Rommel on the wall out of respect for his adversary . . . Rommel did not return the favor.

That would be cool,i guess it was maybe a larger version of that vehicle the Panzer commander used in the film Battle of the Bulge?.

Thank you John, they were the vehicles i was trying to think of:).Yes they would look nice outside a command tent /Bunker.Maybe a Military Policemen maybe on duty outside?.

DAK Command set for Rob using currently available materials: K&C AK interrogation set (you can leave out Brit captive if you wish) and the Collector's Showcase Rommel and adjutant set. Brad--I want to repaint the faces and hands of the 2 CS figures since they are so ghastly. What do you think? I know it will lower value but I want alive not dead figures. Randy

I have been hoping for more command center items, too. The standing Monty and Rommel figures are a bit dated and could use the upgrade anyway. Given the choice, I'd prefer a Rommel set over Monty.

;) We Must Have' Monty ', as well as 'Rommel'! But, would also like to get Oconnor, Smith, Auckinluk, Wavell, for the British Figures; and Rommel in a different Pose(Long Coat), Bayerlin, Ritchie, Guerdian, Etc, for the Germans DAK!

John,

I once asked Andy about Monty and he told me I'd have to do with the Monty we presently have. Sorry.

The current K & C Monty is a good pose and a reasonable likeness and I can't see much point in a new version at this stage. However I have to say I'm not a fan of the current K & C (standing) Rommel and use the Britains version in my dios, albeit his uniform being to dark and the "Tobruk" sign to cliched.
