Having connections with scotland and the Royal Marines I may be biased but I think a strictly limited set similiar to the Figures on the Commando Memorial at Spean Head may have wide appeal. What do you think? I briefly taked to Andy about classic style commando figures at last Decembers show but we never finished the conversation.

As a kid the Airfix commando sets in 1/72 & 1/32 were some of my faviourites.

The Matchbox 1/32 commandos were even better. They had a ladder with climber and a dingy with rower.

The airfix 1/72 had a cool 2 man canoe I recall.

Oh happy memories.I loved 1/72 as a kid.And so many of them,i can still picture the box covers today.8TH Army,US Marines,Japenese,AK The list is endless.Every time i go to the london show i see someone selling them and it really pulls at my heart strings.Long summer days of playing with 1/72 Soldiers,Action man and reading War/commando comics...can't understand where my interest in war came from!;)

James is right, the commandos did have a little canoe.:)

We've hit on a good idea here. Commandos in canoes and dingys and others with grappling hooks and ropes and ladders. All ready for a raid on a top secret German installation somewhere in Norway! :)

Cool idea, they could be armed with Stens,Grenades and have their faces blacked up.There could be a couple of men going up a ladder,it was done with the crusaders, it would look so good!

Please guys, stop giving Andy good ideas . . . as it is I am barely keeping my head above water between the incredible new releases in the desert, the Fallschirmjaegers, the new Crusaders and (gulp!) the incredible new warbirds. How the heck are you guys keeping up? I am quickly falling behind, with little hope of catching up if he launches a whole new series of cool WWII commandos!

I feel your pain Louis its almost to the point where I fear the monthly dispatches.:)

Rob, Easy you are on my wave lenght! This is exactly what I've been thinking.;)

Can anybody with the computer know how post a picture of the Spean Head Memorial. I've got a 35mm photo somewhere that I took when the future Mrs RAMC and I crossed coast to coast some years ago. Her grandfather was in the DLI and transferred so there are two commando links in the family.

Assuming you have the picture, you could scan it and then save it to your computer and then upload it to Treefrog.

You chaps are incorrigible (hope I spelt that right). We have just had old Pandaglen bemoaning the lack of good old fashioned run of the mill infantry, to which if I recall a lot of you all nodded sagely and concured, and now off we go demanding more special forces. Your eyes are bigger than your tummies as my mother used to say.

Regards
Damian

I do concur dear Sir. Special Forces are indeed romantic. But it was the regular Joes, the common Grunts, the Dog Faced foot slogin' Tommies, GI's etc that did the back breaking brunt of the work.
I would love to see a few more in miniuature if you please. Thank you.
O.C.

Commandos get my vote (shocker!).
The DD RM series is about the best there is.

I reckon you guys have hit on a real winner their ,
most of the time suggestions seem a little ho hum!
but commandos in a canoe or dinghys would be the
buisness [canoe especialy ].

You're right, we have a winner, that would truly be impressive.
I love hero's.

Hi Guys,

Lots of collectors make lost of suggestions… thanks to that K&C is never short of ideas for new figures… but that’s the easy part!

The hard part is trying to balance all those ideas with a proper work schedule, budget and a sensible release timetable. We appreciate our collector’s enthusiasm but please remember there are many other factors to consider.

We value all suggestions from the marketplace on our products. Constant improvement is how K&C became the company it is today. But we can’t help but notice that some of those who are so eager to suggest new products… the next day complain we release too many things they want to buy… and too quickly! Ah well, I guess that is a good problem to have!

Another important factor that is sometimes overlooked is that the ‘hard corps’ posters on the forum are a relatively small percentage of the total forum membership. Now writing this is meant in no way to denigrate their obvious enthusiasm for the hobby but K&C must take into account that these ‘likes… dislikes… opinions(good and bad)’ might not always be reflective of the larger market as a whole.

With that said, this forum is an important part of our hobby and your views are indeed relevant and valuable. They are still, however, one ingredient in the decision making process of what K&C (and most other companies) decides to design, produce and sell.

As always,
Happy Collecting!

Well Said Praetorian - Save this Email you will need to post it again next month. Three Cheers for K&C!!! The hobby would not be the same with out you! I believe 95% of the forum members love what K&C is doing no matter what complaints get posted. We just call that free speech here in the States. Keep up the good work. P.S. Looking forward to that CUSTER Line in 2009!!!
